The Demonoid Thread? + another question.

Hi, I'm new to this community and I hope to contribute as much as I can :001_smile:

There is something I didn't understand: Invites aren't given away for everyone, which is fine. You have to prove your ratio is good, you have a good internet speed, and you must have a decent reputation here.

So why there is a completely seperate thread for Demonoid in which people just post their invites, without checking the person beforehand?

And the second question is more general; Do you know how much time does Demonoid take to generate another invite? They say it depends on the last invite creation (ok how much time from creation to creation?) and other factors? Which factors?

I believe it's because Demonoid is considered a Low Level torrent site - meaning they are not very strict when it comes to handing out invitations, causing the site not to be very difficult to become a member of.

As far as your second question, I'm not sure. I've been a member of Demonoid since 2004 and have not used it in years. I just visited there now and generated 5 invite codes back to back with no problem.

You basically get 5 invites no matter what. There is absolutely NO punishment for a bad/low ratio. I saw a guy with a 0.03 ratio once. What's up with that?! There is no user limit and the only way you can get banned is by uploading malware.

Demonoid has the worst speeds of any tracker with an invite system. The only reason they did the invite system was because so many people were trying to register.

Hmm, and here I was thinking it was good. From the newbie I am guessing I have a lot to learn. If you guys have any shortcuts for what to read first please let me know, this site looks content rich though that will slow me down in absorbing.

i dont know about the worst speeds with demonoid,i have been a member there for a very long time and i get everything pretty fast,then again i have been there almost since their beginning.And of course I have always had a good ratio(dont know if that matters or not),but,i usually get things faster than a couple of my friends if we start at the same time,and 1 of them has a real sucky ratio.
