    Default iTunes Library and iPhone

I had a hard drive failure a few weeks ago so I lost all my files there. My iPhone is currently synced in the iTunes Library of that PC but since my hard drive got broken, now it's lost. I want to put new songs on my iPhone but I can't because it's not synced in the iTunes Library of my laptop. So that means I really need to delete all the stuff again since that's needed in order to sync it to a new library?

    I tried following this: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

But it didn't work. Yes I was able to backup the songs in my iPhone but I still can't transfer new songs to my iPhone. It still won't let me. Maybe because I haven't deleted the old library in my iPhone?

Also if I delete the old library in my iPhone, will that delete my apps too? Meaning, if I made progress in some of the games there, will I start at the beginning again?

I use i-FunBox | File Manager, Browser, Explorer, Transfer Tool for ...

to transfer all my files/apps/music from my computer to my iphone/ipad. No need for itunes.

Another program I used in the past is http://itools.hk/tscms/index.php?a=webpage&pid=12

Both work well for transfering music and movies.

I'm just worried about the saved data of my games, my messages and contacts. They will be deleted if I reformat my iPhone right? How can I do this without losing any data?

I'm lost as to why you can't just save your data via Itunes, and then reformat your device? Re-download itunes now, and do it.

So you're saying that if I make a backup of my iPhone in my iTunes, everything will be there? Including the messages, saved games, contacts, photos? So I can reformat it then just restore it to my backup. Is that it?

With the programs I said above you are able to transfer and save all of those things without the need for itunes.

That is correct, and GPtester recommendations were good too. I also use i-Funbox for my iPad, and don't need anything else.

The only added benefit that itools give you is that it translates itunes giberish ways of naming their music files to something that you are able to actualy read and understand but both programs are very easy to use. I stopped using itunes and do all my transfers with ifunbox. I usually only use itools when I have to help someone recover from the same thing that you had happen.
