    Default Filtering torrents based on client

    Hi, I was just wondering if there is a way to add torrents using irssi based on the seeder’s client. Currently I am buffering my account on PTP using the mystery and thriller tags in my autodl.cfg file.

    [filter PassThePopcorn]
    match-sites = ptp
    tags = mystery, thriller
    max-size = 7GB
    years = 2000-2012

    The filter works great but my problem is that some users are uploading and seeding torrents using slow connections whereby my download speeds are around 15 to 30Kbs. It takes forever for these torrents to download and it’s simply not worth adding them for buffer. I am using ruTorrent and in the peer list most users are using seedboxes indicated by “libTorrent(Rakshasa)” or "Deluge 1.x.x.x". So is there a way to edit the autodl.cfg files so that ruTorrent only adds torrents if the uploaders are using either of the two. Any feedback would greatly appreciated.

    I'm not sure but I don't think autodl-irssi has that feature.

    yeah autodl-irssi does not have that filter feature, but hoping someone might know something that can be added directly into the autodl.cfg file

    You can't get that info until you start downloading the torrent. The announce bots only announce the size, download link, tags, torrent name, etc. Moreover, I think announce bots announce the new torrents even before the uploader has started seeding. Many times you see torrents stuck at 0%. So it's not possible I think.

    The only way will probably be to check for the seeders with 100% of the torrent. But that isn't practical since trackers will accuse you of HnR.

    As thenewbie said above. and your upload speed is really slow, dont think about buffer. keep seeding for points is better. Once you online, keep checking page manually for 1080p or 720p torrent. this usually upped by faster connection because most of them race each other to upload.

    @thenewbie and @IPv4 are correct there is no way to apply this kind of filter using autodl, and there is no plugin that I am aware of that will stop a torrent based on the peer clients. I am sure you could code a solution, but I don't really see the point in that.

    as IPv4 said you should take advantage of PTP seed bonus system, and also if you long term seed, with PTP you will get upload over time. I have found seeding some fairly old and obscure movies that if I seed it long enough people will eventually download it. The PTP membership is the most active membership I have seen on archive content, just takes a bit of patience.

    Thanks IPv4 and Arakasi for your feedback..I will do as you folks suggested. Will leave torrents seeding on my desktop at home since its on all the time anyway.
