Thread: New to Site..would like beginner info

Is there a good Beginner guide to new people like me that i can read and learn about all the features, and how to do things on the site? I was looking through the FAQs, it is limited. I would like to know the best route to gain my rank on the site.

The easiest way is to contribute in any way you can. The FAQ helps you to find your way about the forum. Well, you can 'gain your rank' by collecting iGiver points and reputation points. You are given iGiver points by invitees when you giveaway invites to private trackers in the Giveaway section. You gain reputation points by helping others and giving out useful information - though it's totally up to other members to rep you according to what you've contributed. You cannot rep any member until you've hit 50 posts - so you still have quite a distance to go. Take your time, follow the rules, read the stickies, make yourself at home and get acquainted to the forum - and you'll do just fine.

I'm kind of new to this myself, but as far as i can tell, the best way to rank up is to help as many people as you can, however you can. The most obvious way is to give out invites for trackers you subcribe to. You can also get rep by answering people's questions about torrents and torrent related subject matter.
