    I also searched for good and stable version of utorrent cause of my own interest and reached to this decision -
    (+) should use the 2.2.1
    or
    (+) any latest stable version of utorrent

    Why
    2.2.1 - I use 2.2.1 build 25302. I use the latest build of 2.2.1 which is stable and also approved by all the trackers. its light, it uses very low resources, small but fast and does every (torrent) download job perfectly.

    Any latest stable version - they are bug free, stable, approved by the trackers but they uses more resources than 2.2.1, they are full of features (most of them are totally unnecessary). So u have a good pc, good RAM good CPU, dont even worry about its resource problem...

    There is another issue. every utorrent till v3.1.2 has a common bug. They cant (force) re-check the files if we use the magnet link. Up until the Piratebay magnet link incident, nobody noticed it cause people didn't use magnet link till then.

    Lastly my opinion, 2.2.1 is better than others. I used latest till now but i downgraded it and using 2.2.1. I dont care about the the magnet link bug cause i dont download much from piratebay. So i suggest you should use 2.2.1

    During the recent freeleech on Waffles I put µTorrent v2.2.1 through a stress test of 80 torrents at once and LAN speeds. It is working fine still.

    I really recommend keeping all torrent files and settings in the same directory where µTorrent already is. One separate set of settings per each version installed. Less chance of losing or borking them while trying out new versions. µTorrent has a help article on this now.

    Basically the "installation" is just to copy the exe to a directory of choice with write permission, create or copy an existing settings.dat and resume.dat in the same directory, then assign a torrent storage path through the GUI that is a subdirectory. You can run as many simultaneously installed copies as you want by adding "/RECOVER" to the command line or shortcut.

    I seed about 200+ and speed is fine .... and thats everyday... no limiter... I can assure u that :)

    My system used to crash on new versions of utorrent and im currently using µTorrent 2.0.4 build 21586 with no problems whatsoever...

    I'm using uTorrent 3.1.3 (build 27120) (http://download.utorrent.com/3.1.3/uTorrent.exe)
    Seeding ~100 torrents, dozens GBs of traffic everyday, no crashes at all.
    Also I didn't have problem with any private tracker so far.
    I Recommend this version.

    Edit: It crushed one time,
    But it was when I started to download a few torrents at once (>100GB total).
    It's not a normal situation, so it doesn't count.

    After upgrading to uTorrent version 3 I had nothing but trouble. It seemed to be slower and I had the bug where downloads would remain at 99% and constantly download hashfails.
    I downgraded to 2.2.1 which was better but I had another bug some people get where the .ut files remain in the download directory. I thus have downgraded to 2.2. Still seeing how it goes.
    I've heard of some people still using version 1 uTorrent because it's faster. Rather than trying lots of previous versions I though id ask if anyone has done testing and thinks a previous version of uTorrent is better than the new ones on offer?

    The best version so far is uTorrent 2.2.1 Build 25302.
    Its very stable and supports all trackers :)

    I currently have 639 torrents on my uTorrent 3.1.3 n it is working without any problems.

    Yes, uTorrent 2.2.1 Build 25302 is the best choice for me too.. Some people talk about latest version (uTorrent 3.1.3 BUild 27220) but I don't know if it's really stable and reliable..

    I've been using ut 3.1.3 until now - because it's a CPU HOG !!!!
    I don't know why, but it just is.
    Will switch to 2.2.1 and see if that changes.
