    Default Torrent Transfer Help

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick question. I am planning on installing a new OS soon but im holding back because of the amount of torrents i currently have seeding,

I know i can load the torrents back into utorrent when i install the OS but is there anyway to do this without having to select the file where the torrent is downloaded too? Or do i have to select the folder that the torrent data is in and re-check every torrent?

    Kindest regards

Sadly, it's the second part. You have to select the folder that has the torrent data in it and re-check every torrent.

Although, I think that if you put all the folders in the same place, and then set your torrent clients download location to the same place, you won't have to go find every single folder so it should speed up the process.

Are you talking about uTorrent or another client?

If it's uTorrent, I THINK if you backup uTorrent's data folder then everything will be saved and you can transfer it over and resume everything normally without any hassle.

    C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent

    backup and restore that folder.

If the path to your downloads remain the same after the reinstall, then you just need to back up C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent
Exact files you need are resume.dat so all your torrents load up and rss.dat in case you use rss.

Yes all paths would remain the same. I.E all my movies are in F:/Movies, TV Series are in F:/TV Series etc. So if i was to copy those files to a flash drive and replace them upon reinstall of utorrent it would continue where i left off without me having to do anything? It would of course still recheck everything tho?

Basically do this. Backup this before formatting your PC then when you're done copy it to the same location again and viola! you're done!

No it won't recheck anything. It will just load up everything.
