Default How to change TI's default theme?

    Hi,

I really like TI's TI Beta 4 theme during nights.

However, it's really hard to see it during the days (most probably because of my monitor settings)

Is there a way to change the "full site" theme to white or something? Also, any tips to increase the speed of the site would be appreciated.

TIA for your time and feedback.

For your first question, only option I can think of is switching to the mobile version. Just go to the bottom of almost any page and use the drop down box in the bottom left corner. However this version of the site will severly limit your usuability. Dont know of any other way besides that to acomplish what your asking for. Can you be more specific as to why your moniter is having trouble displaying this theme during the day? Is it just too Dim/old? Have you tried incresing the font size?

As for your second question, I'm not sure I understand completely. What do you mean speed of the site? I don't think the site in anyway would be slowing you down. Perhaps it's your PC/Connection? If you could be more specific I will gladly try to help you further.

Thanks for your time and input.

Yeah, the mobile version doesn't allow me to rep. In several forums, there are multiple themes to choose from. Since the bottom left corner said "Quick" style chooser, I assumed there could be something in CP, where I can choose the theme that I like. My room lighting is pretty bright during daytime, so this theme makes it slightly difficult to point and click. (Especially page numbers).

But if this the only theme, I guess I'll grow into it.

I searched a while about themes on the site, and there was a post in the FAQ that said the background can be disabled to improve the performance. So I assumed that can be done as well.

Since the upgrade to T-I v.3, the site has been extremely slow and laggy. What can I do to alleviate this issue?

There are a few solutions to this problem. (i) You could try changing the style sheet (bottom left-hand corner) to either no background or white. (ii) You could use a different browser. Many have found using Opera or upgrading to FireFox 4 have completely removed the lag. Chrome seems to work fine as well.

Like Bill mentioned, the mobile version obviously is limited in functionality. I guess there were other themes that I could choose. My bad.

I've also noticed a considerable speed difference between the old theme and the new theme. It's still within the realm of reasonable, but its no longer lightning fast for me anymore. Not complaining, just mentioning.

I was gonna ask the same question. The mobile version is only white and honestly I don't like it at all. It's much more complicated than the darker theme (Or maybe it's the mobile version).

No sense in using the mobile version from a PC.
I just want the white theme back.

If threads with new posts and threads I've already read with no new posts had a different text color, I would be content with the update. But this little shield is just not cutting it. My eyes are simply not used to this.

Yea, I said the same thing prior to the launch. Don't know what Dave is going to do, if anything.

Not sure if you've noticed, but newer posts are also slightly illuminated. Maybe if we increase the intensity that may alleviate the issue of the bold/no bold?
