Thread: Can you receive itrader thru private invite?

Hi everyone!

I have a question. If I send someone an invite without using the giveaway thread do I forfeit the itrader? I ask because the new girl, Kristy, posted in her intro that she really hoped to one day be a part of PassthePopcorn. Since I had an invite there, and since someone just fufilled my biggest request (thanks for Waffles TwoFingers!) I wanted to do the same and pass on the invite karma. Anyway I sent her a pm and then the invite. Since there's no link to refer to, do I just forfeit the itrader? It's no problem if I do because I didnt do it for personal gain (just karma)... but building a good invite rep around here is nice also.

I guess I could have told her to post an official request in the forum and I'd fill it but that didn't seem honest. And I don't want to break the rules, because I love this place. The guys here are some of the nicest and most generous I've met anywhere. Unless you get on their bad side. :laugh:

well,you can ask the reciever to find a giveaway thread by you and she can use that link

To answer your question, all she needs to do is click your profile and follow the how to give itrader thread. I have helped a few people the way you are and they can itrader me. You don't need to make a thread.

For the forum link she can post the URL of the PM, and state in the info that it was done through PM.

Yes, also for the IRC (in case this ever comes up in the future) just put the url of the IRC.

No this is not acceptable or right..
First you cant give an invite on intoduction and second the url you have to put on itrader feedback must be right..What i mean right?Not pms,irc,general discussion or any of those..The url must be from giveaway section from your topic you had your giveaway..or request topic ofc.
So if you gave an invite on introduction the best you can do is to tell her to post in one of your giveaways and then itrader you there..

You can give itrader on GAs through IRC or PM. This has been confirmed by many people including mods. That is all.

Please, actually contact a mod before posting again. You are making this harder than this has to be. You are not the knower of all things Trance, and I have personally had mods tell me that this is ok, if you legitimately receive an invite through PM or the IRC. (Those are valid URLs btw.)

If you have a mod (Reggie, Nailbomb, Schuwe, Ethicks) post here and tell me that I am wrong, then I will admit so. Otherwise, you are giving some of our newer users false information and confusing them.
