Ok... I am going to confer with other mods who have said that it was ok so we can clear this up, as this would greatly diminish the GA's, contests, and quizzes that we have in the IRC.

So what is the official ruling on this then? Are we not allowed to offer invites privately without a thread in existence? Or if we do, then we forfeit itrader? That doesn't seem fair. I offered that invite in the GA thread twice and had no takers. I saw she wanted it, so I offered it via pm - which I thought was in the spirit of this site.

I was pm'd by a mod to use her intro thread as the url so thats what we did. So now what? How will this new system affect url's already in the itrader section? Will people be retroactively penalized? I certainly don't deserve a warning or infraction considering I followed mod given advice.

I agree with everything u said (and you won't get an infraction for sure). I want some mods in here to comment on this as there are plenty of GA's I do via PM (check out my sig) and I do GA's in the IRC (just gave a BCG invite out today). So, if you are telling me that I won't be rewarded for this any more (despite mods telling me and countless others that it is ok) then I guess I will stop. But that's gonna suck as the GA's, competitions, and quizzes in the IRC will cease to exist.

well i dont say that invites via pm's,irc or comps must be stopped..
i just say that the link must be right..
so in order to be right the reciever must post in any of your giveaways[if its the invite u give him its better] and he must itrader u there..
ofc its better not to give invites via pms and even worse if he doesnt post on your giveaway and put the right link on itrader then if he scam u or do anything and u delete the message then u wont have proofs..

If you have a mod (Reggie, Nailbomb, Schuwe, Ethicks) post here and tell me that I am wrong, then I will admit so. Otherwise, you are giving some of our newer users false information and confusing them.

It is still ok to do a private giveaway and if you really want the itrader just make a thread and have your reciever give you the itrader there.

The itrader system is meant to be solely for giveaways done in the forum and all links must point to a valid giveaway otherwise it defeats the purpose when you are trying to research someones giveaway history.

If all itraders point to the pm url then it would be just silly.

Also tranceX that kind of derrogatory commenting is not required. Infraction given.

To be a second mod to answer your question (since i'm the one on irc primairly arranging the whole G/A with my Awesome Quiz if i may say so myself. The facts are these. In my opinion and i state it as a clear rule if dave or any mod will agree with me is that when you get an invite trough irc or through PM's (even though PM's should only be done if both sides asked for it, so no spamming people with PM's for invites), you should make a thread in the Request Section. however, the debate there is whether then you deserve 1 or 2 itraders since the request section can get you two itraders. Since it isn't quite the same thing as requesting i suggest still making a thread in the request section BUT when you have done that, clearly state in your thread that it was done through PM or Through IRC (no msn or other stuff outside T-I). Those request thread are entitled to 1 itrader like the rest and dont have a right to post in Schuwe's Sticky for a second itrader. I hope this is all clear now and if Dave or any other mod doesn't have a problem with it, this will be how it will go from now on.

As I am a man of my word, what I posted originally was incorrect. I apologize to any that I may have confused.

I gotta agree with Mik (and not because i was one of those GFT gives ) i guess i view it as if Mik or anyone else gives me an invite and is from this Forum either on the Forum the IRC or anywhere else he should be entitled to a iGiver for his troubles, seems like the least you can do for him. I know Reggie Said just to make a request thread and i guess thats okey but im think its extra steps and could cause extra problems that could be avoided if it was just kept simple myabe we could create one stickyed thread in Give invites that said if you recived an invite from IRC post what it is here (in the same format as Reggie's Bonus Points thread) and if you got it on IRC you could just put that threads url in.. just an idea.
    Example

    GFT 13/04/09 Mik

Like that you know? and then point all deals done on IRC to that thread, it wouldnt cludder the request forum taht way either.
