    I am not a linux user and I know little about how to set up a seedbox, but there is a very simple way to get it set and ready(using the commands below):
    Code:
    cd
    wget --no-check-certificate -O autodl-setup http://sourceforge.net/projects/autodl-irssi/files/autodl-setup/download
    sudo sh autodl-setup
    the error code came to you is about creating a .torrent file, it seem some is wrong with it. If you are not good at using linux, just re-install the rtorrent and rutorrent. I've done it twice, and problem solved both times.
    Good luck.

    And if you are planning to do a fresh install i suggest checking this guys guide for new "seedboxes" [Tutorial] Kimsufi dedicated servers - ruTorrent, FTP, Webmin and Apache.
    the script above is also taken from there, but the guide shows what the installation should look like at the end.

    since ur unable to create a torrent file try this

    nano ~/www/rutorrent/plugins/create/conf.php

    and replace

    $useExternal = false;
    with

    $useExternal = "mktorrent";

    Sorting by load or completion time would be a little easier than renaming stuff manually. ;)

    I think you can just do the reinstall without reloading your OS, but if there is any apache, nginx or httpd services running on your sever, errors might occur.
    When I use these commands, I login the sever using the ROOT account, and then run the commands. There are promting line guiding you through the configuration.
