    My previous answer makes no sense after the question got changed.... Sorry all ;)



    Filezilla can resume downloads, I do it every now and then. I'm not sure whether the server also has to support this or you just don't have it set up right on your end.

    yup i have downloaded with resume support b4 from other provider box
    on the side note most of the servers dnt hv resume function frm my exp

    so there were servers which had both down/up resume support
    sm with jst down resume support
    most with no resume support

    so thats what i want to know , which setting on the server side decides this function

    In filezilla, edit->settings->transfers->file exists action
    Is this what you were asking?
    Or do you mean your server doesn't support resume? Which ftp server do you have?

    ^ What he said. To continue a download after pausing and re-starting it again vs. overwriting the whole thing you need..

    Edit > Settings > Transfers > File Exists Action and pick "resume file transfer" from the downloads drop down.
