    Default kimsufi help

I just bought a kimsufi special plan here: Kimsufi - your range of dedicated servers from £13.99 p/m !

system is linux ubuntu, after I using putty to set up deluge or rtorrent, the disk I can use is just 10 GB. but it must be
    2x 500GB RAID.

and then I access to the webmin, I see the information below:

Device name Active? RAID level Usable size Member disk devices
    /dev/md1 Yes Mirrored (RAID1) 10 GB /dev/sda1 | /dev/sdb1
    /dev/md2 Yes Mirrored (RAID1) 455.26 GB /dev/sda2 | /dev/sdb2
I really don't know how to do this, I mean how to use all the spaces...

hope someone can help me out..

Unless stated otherwise your disks should already be put in RAID, most likely software RAID and not hardware.
Rutorrent usually fails at picking up the correct size without proper modifications. Have you also tried to look at:
    (Select a torrent in rutorrent)
    General
    Free Disk Space available
It should normally display you the correct amount. (about 910GB or so)

Assemble a SSH connection with your server and type the following command:
    df -h
It will display all your available space as well as your partitions.
If not we have to guide you through the process of setting up a software RAID which is kind of complicated.

If you need help feel free to PM me, but keep in mind that asking for an invite is not considered help.

Looks like you need to mount your drives in the appropriate place.

It's been way way too long since I've done any mounting (which is what I think you'll need to do), so I suggest "man mount" while logged into the shell (assuming they didn't disable man). It should be something like "mount /dev/md2 [to there your torrents download]"

I'm not sure on how to get them running as the same volume though.

I just saw you edited your post.
Your disks are already put in software RAID1 which means the data is mirrored on both disks. It offers the best possible security, but on the other hand the space efficency is 1/n with n = the number of disks. In your case that would be 1/2.

It should display the correct amount in rutorrent with the method I described above:
    (Select a torrent in rutorrent)
    General
    Free Disk Space available

    Are you sure?
I mean selecting a torrent >>> General tab >>> free disk space
Without modification rutorrent is picking up the wrong partition and it displays only as 10GB free with the diskspace indicator on the left bottom.

    NO.
    Do that in rutorrent.
Select a torrent, then select the General tab and in the section where is says 'Free Disk Space' it should display the correct amount.

1/ n (number of disks) = about 0.5 (500GB) minus OS and repositories which means it's correct.
If it bothers you that the disk plugin isn't picking up the proper amount I could guide you through the process if I remember it again, but it's kind of complicated.

EDIT: You can use 426GB, but rutorrent is just picking up the wrong partition.
You will save your torrents to /home/your_username and the partition /home has a volume of 426GB.
