Thread: RSS Auto Download Tracker's and Safe Poll times

Just wandering what major trackers have auto RSS downloads and specifically what the miminum safe poll time would be for an SCC, CHDBits and HDC. Is it ok to poll the tracker every one minute or would you guys recommend something longer. I don't want to lose an account by polling too often but at the same time want to be competitive.

Frankly, RSS is pretty slow and doesn't update in 5 minutes. If you know what cronjob is, then it is similar. So it's pretty pointless to poll it less than 5 minutes. Most RSS should work the same way.

For example, it may take around 3-5 minutes for the latest things to show up on your RSS feeds which at this time., all the leechers would've gone

RSS feeds stress the servers and that is why most people use auto-dlirssi for Quick Downloading and to increase server responsiveness.

Thanks for the info guys and now it makes sense to me and RSS is kind of flaky on my box. Like you guys mentioned it appears that 5 minutes is in the minimum time an actual refresh will take place. On SCC it briefly worked then stopped and on HDC and CHD rss works well. Noticing CHD is a faster tracker than HDC.
