Default wTorrent, looking for the best version...

    Sup my brothers and sisters,

I remember trying wtorrent some years ago, and I really liked it. Now that I'm setting up my own multi-user seedbox I want to use it. The last official revision was 109 before development stopped. I've since found a spin-off called "wTorrent plus" here wtorrent - Unofficial wTorrent fan site - Google Project Hosting.

My question is, are there others? Does anyone have experience with one that they'd like to recommend?

    Many thanks

After about 30 minutes searching I have found many sites that have tutorials but that seems to be the only active development project. Here is the official wtorrent. [https://code.google.com/p/wtorrent-project/]

In my opinion there are better alternatives.

Very light weight, multi-user web front ends? Please, I'd love to hear what you think might make a good option.

I have never used wTorrent. So I can't comment on its performance but other webui's such as rutorrent are great imho.

Yeah, I've used it extensively, and it is very good. Unfortunately, it has no multi user capability. Although you can run multiple instances of rtorrent+rutorrent on the same server, it seems like an awful lot of work, and I'm not sure how I would even be able to get that up and running properly. Unless you want to coach me through the exercise... ;-) Still thanks for the effort man.

I am not sure about that. But, isn't rutorrent support for multi user web browser front end ?
You can install and setup easily using all in one script offer at rutorrent forum. I try once and use it.

I am actually also looking for light weight multi user interface. I've not tried wTorrent, maybe I should try it out.

ruTorrent actually has the potential to run multi-user interface. Just that, some plugins are limited and require payment to make it properly work as a true multi-user client. However, 1 process of rTorrent per user is unavoidable for ruTorrent+rTorrent. I'm not sure how wTorrent works, maybe wTorrent works with a single process for multiple users.

Well, I'm going with ruTorrent since I finally got it to run for multiple users on my VPS. Thanks for everyone's help.
