    Default Non-US based DNS servers?

If something like ACTA passes and ISPs are forced to block access to certain websites, surely Google DNS and OpenDNS would both do the same. So my question is, does anyone here use a non-US based DNS server? Is it good? How fast does it resolve webpages?

Theres are allot of DNS providers. But I would say just stick with openDNS, and just edit your hosts file. If you don't wanna go through that hassle I'm sure there is some Russian DNS provider :P. Or at least a Canadian one.

I looked into OpenDNS but this didn't make sense to me. All the IPs say something like this: 208.69.35.0/24 So that would be 208.69.35.0 and 208.69.35.24? Can IPs even end in zero? https://www.opendns.com/technology/network-map/

Lol, OpenDNS used name servers as most DNS providers do. Those are just the IP addresses of the servers openDNS uses. And technically yes, an IP address can end with a 0.

No Ip address can't end in 0 or 255. Because 0 is used as an network identifier and 255 is the broadcast.

Maybe it's just telling you the range of the ip address.

I guess my answer was a bit fuzzy, I just didn't want to explain subnetting, etc.

Okay so then, 208.69.35.1 through 208.69.35.24?

Actually /24 is just a notation. There are a total of 254 usable hosts. and if they are using the full range it would be 208.69.35.1 - 208.69.35.254 I think.
