    If you're satisfied with the performance I wouldn't change anything. I would say your setting is already well configured for high-performance torrenting and if it doesn't slow down your server just keep it so. rtorrent isn't demanding on CPU or memory, I only occasionally run into I/O peeks while hashing. But I see you've turned that option down.

    First of all, what is the version of rtorrent you're using?

    Also, if you're downloading and seeding on private trackers, please change this option!

    peer_exchange = no

    Add this option as well to save on memory

    max_memory_usage = 320M

    Other than that, your settings are pretty solid. I'll be able to help you further if you were to provide the version of rtorrent you're on.

    Thank you very much for answering ! I'm using rtorrent 0.8.9. But i have a little problem. When rss is enabled, i want the download to start and so on. But i'm having troubles with the number of peers. Let me explain. When a torrent is added automaticly in my client its normal that the numer of peers to be 0, ok. Now the thing is that very ofter that number remains that way for hours, and the download is not starting. but if i add manualy that torrent or i stop and resume it, works. Someone can help me ? Maybe some fixes in my settings.

    Which tracker does the rss belong to?

    Also, When you click on the torrent, what color is it's status? Red (error) ?

    What is the message displayed at the tracker part (Status) ?

    You're using private trackers only right?

    Have you tried it on public trackers? See if it works?

    Only. A torrent was added right now by the rss and i see that i get this Tracker Status: Storage error: [File chunk read error: Cannot allocate memory] . I think i will increase the max memory, uy how much :-? Now its not set.

    For the RSS starting issue, log into the rtorrent cli and hit L (lowercase) This should give you a log, maybe something will show up in there about it.

    I think your setting your peers/seeder max uploads to high, there really is not much need to go so extreme with them. For instance I used to do something like

    min_peers = 1
    max_peers = 200
    max_uploads = 50

    On a gbit connection and it would still max out. These should reduce a little bit of CPU and ram usage.

    The error of "File chunk read error etc.." Means you could do with giving it a bit more RAM of reduce the number of actively seeding torrents.
