    Default Television recording information

    Hi everyone!

So I have noticed that a lot of the hd shows that show up on tv trackers are from my neck of the woods. I have not been able to find good information on how to do record HD content from my cable stream.

Does anyone know where to find info or a how-to to record live HD tv suitable for upload?

Easy, you just need a good capture card for HDMI like this one (blackmagic design intensity pro) there are tons more but most will set you back around 150 - 200 USD... Once you have captured your video you can edit out commercials, etc using your preferred video editing software (sony vegas for me)... and upload to a tracker... Not that I would know any of this since I'm against pirating :P

Edit: take a look here at blackmagics intensity products (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/)

    Another interesting option, thanks!

But between the two options given so far, which would be considered better for both quality, and ease of use?

Blackmagic is the superior option for the do it yourself. but ease of use goes to the hauppauge... But they both have a learning curve and whichever you choose there's always someone who could help you... Here or the company's support... The best thing to do is study and compare... you will find a winner

I dont know about the Black Magic, although it looks and sounds like a good product.

The Hauppauge is priced around $200, Best Buy has them so you could have it the same day. It can capture in any projection size, cut the commercials, and capture to just about any format on the fly. Its quick, and the quality is great.

Great! Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. Guess I'm in for some reading, and I found a couple of places pretty close to me that sell the Blackmagic products also.
