Thread: help with mirc please

Hi guys seems like im always here asking for help, Im back again lol so i have mirc installed on pc and it works fine i loyter in 7 rooms fine all day however i have laptop with fresh install of windows 7 and same version of mirc installed now when i close mirc down on pc and log in to mirc on laptop whicchever room i go in i get constantly disconnected every few minutes , any 1 on irc will of seen me logging in and out its because i get disconnected.

the thing is i have 2 modems so 2 different ips i have 1 on a network using a router and the other modem is dirrectly feeded to home pc is this the problem or is irc not ip bound and if so how can i fix as i really need mirc working on laptop as desktop needs cleaning lol.

Do you use W-Lan with your laptop? If so you should try to disable the function that makes win7 search for new networks every few minutes! COULD be the reason. Not sure though.

yeah i use wifi but have tried it hardwired it makes no difference i have also opened port 6667 in the router its got me so confused as tthe desktop as firewall +av installed and mirc works fine and lappy as everything dissabled only difference is the lappy goes threw a router im thinking gotta be a setting im missed but i did open ports using simple port forwarder
