    Default BitTorrent Bandwidth Allocation Issue

So ever since I installed the latest version of BitTorrent, I can't seem to limit the DL speed. As a matter of fact, At this very moment I'm DL-ing at 700kps... I set the bandwidth allocation to only DL at 200kps, yet it still DL's at 600-700.

Is this happening to anyone else? If so, how do I fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you been able to limit the download speed before?

Throttling the download speed is a much harder challenge for programmers to achieve, because the incoming traffic comes from multiple sources, but you could throttle the port speed which would be a pretty bad idea, because the data will still arrive with the same speed.

I can only imagine that it's a bug in the new version which can be resolved but reversing the update or waiting till it's fixed.

If you need help feel free to PM me, but keep in mind that asking for an invite is not considered help.

Have you tried limiting the number of connections and number of peers connected?

Yeah. Still DLing at 600-700kps though. Only reason it's even an issue for me is because the wife is complaining that she can't stream Netflix cause i'm hogging all the bandwidth lol.

Assuming that its your home connection u are talking about, utorrent 2.2.1 25278 build does the trick with either " global download speed limiting" or "limiting the speead of a specific torrent by right clicking on it and setting the speed manually".

Hmm. Yeah, I'm gonna try re-installing BT first to see if maybe it's just a weird fluke and if that doesn't work, maybe i'll give UT a try.
