    Default 480p x264 encodes

I am really interested in x264 480p encodes. I know that the question of which trackers have 480p has already been asked.

What I want to know is....I've seen mSD group on IPT provides these encodes.
Does anyone know where their home is? do they relese on IPT only/first?
The reason i ask is they only provisse single episodes which die out quick and don't have any series/season packs (on IPT)

Also, are there any other groups that encode in this format that i should look out for?
I am particularly interested in series/season packs...if you do have suggestions please post here with the trackers

The trackers that are best for hx264 SD TV shows are BTN and x264, but unfortunately I can't come up with more information at the moment, because both trackers are down - x264, because they move to a new datacenter and BTN because of payment issues with their provider. The internal groups of x264.me are XTFS and Chotab.

I wish I could provide you more information about other x264 SD encoders, but at the moment I can't, because BTN is down.
btn doesn't work with ssl right now.

so just remove the https and btn will work

Fantastic....tho not so much cos i can't download them lol

I love mSD releases...it's a shame they don't do full seasons
The BoB looks promising...will have to figure out a way...I've always hated downloading off web...takes too long....is there an easy way of downloading these from these filehosting sites? Don't want to have to sit around clicking each link for each episode lol..

    Thanks for the post

BTW...i might as well ask in here...is 480p SD? so only 720 and 1080 are HD?
What is the res for a DVD vid?

I thought 480p would be classed as micro HD...as personally i get more of a clearer picture than the normal SD encodes even with the smaller file size (as a result of x264 encode)

    • Standard-definition television (SD):
      • 480i (NTSC standard uses an analog system of 486i split into two interlaced fields of 243 lines)
      • 576i (PAL, 720×576 split into two interlaced fields of 288 lines)

    • Enhanced-definition television (ED): (Still considered SD)
      • 480p (720×480 progressive scan)
      • 576p (720×576 progressive scan)

    • High-definition television (HDTV / HD):
      • 720p (1280×720 progressive scan)
      • 1080i (1920×1080 split into two interlaced fields of 540 lines)
      • 1080p (1920×1080 progressive scan)

That I how pick what is good and what not good.

I get lost when it comes to codec (xvid, x264, h.264, divx) If anyone know a lot about this wanna fill me in?

I'm not sure of the proper answer to your question...but what i do know/have seen is that x264 is always mkv (matroska) file and the others are avi files.

What i've heard and seem to agree with is x264 is superior encode...it does give better quality in less space and most BR rips tend to use it.
Its more common amongst p2p groups as scene still use Xvid.
