Default Torrents created with utorrent 3.1 not working with rtorrent 0.8.9

Over the past several days there has been a problem with torrents created with utorrent 3.1 on seedboxes/VPN that use rtorrent 0.8.9. The torrent does not download or seed. The torrent does work on other clients. There is an error message that the "Torrent is not authorized for use with this tracker". Have seen this on several private trackers. Any uploaders who create torrents with utorrent 3.1 will have this issue.

3/23/2012 Update- see my post #6 below for solution

if possible for you please try to use mktorrent. It is much better.

Also, when you are creating the torrent, plz give large piece size for larger torrents. By default it maybe 1/2MB which may result in a torrent size of ~5MB for a 20GB file. So try to increase piece size which may result in a smaller sized torrent for larger files. ( applicable for any client )

µT 3.1 adds non-standard fields to the info dict of a torrent containing video data, namely 'file-duration', 'file-media', and 'profiles'. And unless some software you use for downloading deletes those keys (and thus changes the info hash) they work without any problem in rT 0.8.9.

In case you're the uploader, then *redownload* the torrent, because then likely the tracker involved scrubbed those keys and in turn changed the info hash, making your original torrent file invalid for seeding.

Found the solution to this problem

Issue 668 - rutorrent - Additional entry in torrent's info-dict not supported. - Yet another web front-end for rTorrent - Google Project Hosting

Torrents that won't load in rtorrent seedboxes using rutorrent can be loaded by FTP'ing the .torrent file to the autoload folder set up by your admin. These folders may have different names like autoload, torrents, etc

Thanks to Lardo for helping me make sense of the solution

@Strepb honestly don't even use the new utorrent. It sucks. Use an old stable version to create and upload torrents. They work like charm. The new utorrent has had this problem since it was created and still hasn't been solved in the latest beta version too.

The problem is that many uploaders on some private tracker use it to create their torrents which makes it impossible for anyone using rtorrent/rutorrent seedboxes from snatching them without this cumbersome workaround..
