Hey all. Just got started here on TI.
I lot of invite giveaways state that I need to demonstrate a speedtest ie, "with a connection of +1 upload" or something like that. What does that mean? I have an idea but rather than guessing...

Hey all. Just got started here on TI.

it means that your upload speed must be 1mbps or above
only the shadow knows the evil in the heart of men
Go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and click begin test, then click on the share link that will show you a link for you to share, click copy and then when you are applying in a GA thread, paste that link. As far as meeting the speed requirements, that can only be done by paying more money to your cable or dsl provider, if your using Dial up, I have no idea how to help. :)
Anyways, hope this answers your question.
It simple means you go to speedtest.net, make a speedtest, click on share this result, then you post this url in the giveaway.
The problem arises with what 'upload of +1' means, because speedtest.net shows you the result in Mbps, which is the standard format, but in your torrent client, simply the way data is labled it is displayed as 1MB/s
It can either mean an upload of 1Mbps or 1MB/s, because 8Mbps = 1MB/s
I don't know where you got this exact quote from, but it can be interpreted either way.

If you need help feel free to PM me, but keep in mind that asking for an invite is not considered help.
Let me finish this.
The above quote is seems to be from my give aways.Thank you for bringing this up, I had not seen it could be misunderstood.
The intention is that it must comply with speedtest.net (+1 Mbps). Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread, I will edit threads now.![]()
Thanks, Kyllah...I'm on tiptoes around here, so I decided to throw it up in the help forum as opposed to bothering you directly by pm'ing or asking a possibly noob question inside one of your giveaways.
If you want a quick answer, the help section is the easiest way.
I think most TI members would like to respond a PM. It is a friendly and helpful forum, welcome. I respect however you take it seriously, would want the most new members did as you.![]()
