    Default Partitioning a drive

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 on my server - does anyone know the commands and steps to partition a drive? I tried a few tutorials however I didn't do them right.

I should have been more specific, everything needs to be command line. So I managed to partition and mount it however it says the partition is only 7.6M.

Well, I assume you are running Ubuntu 10.4 server edtion.

If you just want to resize /home another non boot partition you can just:
    umount /home/whatever
parted will show you the start/stop with
    parted -l
Model: ATA Hitachi .... (lots of info about the drive )
If I wanted to resize /home

    parted resize /home 7.6MB 300GB
It's actually pretty easy, I hope I explained it well, but you should backup any important data because it's also fairly risky.
I hope that's what you meant.
