Default PS3 Media Server - streaming MKV's to Xbox isn't working

So after selecting a file on my Xbox the PS3MS spits out the following in its log:
    [New I/O server worker #1-5] INFO 19:44:20.033 Starting transcode/remux of 8 Mile.mkv
[win32/mencoder.exe] INFO 19:44:23.125 Process C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\win32\mencoder.exe has a return code of -1073741676! Maybe an error occurred... check the log file

Then on the Xbox it says the content cannot be played. Any ideas as to why it's erroring out?

So, you stearmed your .mkv-file to be suitable for Xbox on your computer - right?
Which format are the files after the stearming?

I couldn't tell you because it errors out after trying to transcode it. I'm not sure what it transcodes to though.

    Do you use PS3MS?

    Ok,
I don't use PS3MS - but i think you have some proplem with stearming - if we are talking about the same issue.
If you really want to stearm your mkv. - files you should use some pc application.
    Read some advices out here.

Otherwise - like i do - you should just put the mkv. -file to hard disk and then just connect it to your tv. This works on samsung, sony doesn't support matroska format.....

Sorry if this information is not that which you are looking for - you can always ask some more from me!

It's always glad to help. Good luck!

Xbox's can't natively play MKV files, which is why they either need to be manually transcoded and then you can play them. But that's a tedious task, which is why PS3MS is there. It automatically transcodes the file while you watch it.

Ok - now we are talking the same thing. I got a little sidetracked.
The firewall can cause this bug - which firewall you use?

Must be a different problem, because I also get an error when trying to connect Windows Media Centre to my Xbox.
