    Default Autodl-Irssi setup

I'm trying to use autodl-Irssi thats already installed as part of my Xirvik box with SCC. Now, I've added my passkey to the 'trackers' dialog box and setup a sample filter for 1080p movies. But nothing has happened all day despite new 1080p movies. It seems to have SCC in the built in 'announce channels' list.

So, do I need to add my SCC account details somewhere? Do I need to add the IRC details for SCC to the 'ICR servers' menu? Or could my filter just be wrong?

I'd be grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction!

Not sure If I'm the right person to help you as I sort of winged my way through it when setting up my autodl-irssi but I'll try and see if I can remember what I did to get it to work with SCC. What I did, like you, was added my passkey in the trackers part for SCC. I also added the IRC details for SCC in the IRC Servers part of the plugin, so it looks something like this.

After this, if I remember correctly, the plugin registered my nick on the SCC Irc channel. After doing this my filter still wouldn't work and I finally figured out that I had to be invited to the SCC announce channel. Some other trackers I'm a member of have an invite command that you can simply paste into the 'IRC Channel' part of the 'IRC Servers' section but with SCC I had to go to 'IRC' section on the SCC website and tick the box for the #announce channel and click the 'Invite' button.

After doing this it showed me joining the channel in the autodl-irssi tab of ruTorrent and it showed a message saying something like "Now monitoring SCC announce channel", don't remember exact message but it was something along those lines. After doing this my filter was setup to download any small files (10MB - 500MB for testing) from SCC and it almost immediately started downloading files from the MP3/0-Day section. Should also remember to choose what action you want to do with .torrent files i.e. send to rTorrent or a Watch Folder etc., in the 'Preferences' section of the plugin.

Theres probably other ways to do this easier but this is what worked with me. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info. I seemed to have got further. I've seen a message in the log about my nickname being registered. I've tried setting up a very simple filter for MP3s as you did but nothing is being grabbed. I guess my filter could be wrong? Do you need to add a username and real name under prefs?

I never had to do that. My filter was simply minimum size 10MB maximum size 500MB with scc in the 'Match Sites' box. This also downloaded small tv episodes and such.

OK! Think its working! Tested it with some MP3s and it downloaded 2. Now set up a 720p filter so lets see

Hmmmm, OK. I tried to set up a filter to grab all 720p movies. This morning nothing has been grabbed. What filter settings would I need?

Are you monitoring the announce channel (Did you get the message 'monitoring channel SCC: #announce' or something like that in the autodl-irssi tab?)?

For SCC you make a new filter and put in:
    'Advanced' / Match categories / Movies/x264
    'General' / Match releases / *720p*
You can also put the 720p under resolution in Movies/TV, but sometimes this doesn't work.

Last, but not least, I think you have already said that you have the passkey under 'Trackers'.

Thanks Magister. The one key thing I was probably missing is the *720p* part. I just need something to get posted now to test it out

If I do the same thing for say TL, is there any way to keep the downloads separate?

You would have to setup 2 filters in the Autodl-Irssi setup stuff where you already are.. but make the Actions different... to download them to 2 separate watch folders.

Then you would have to modify your .rtorrent.rc to have 2 different watch folders, that download to 2 different folders.

Kind of a PITA, but rtorrent is one of the few torrent clients where you can actually separate your watch folders --> downloads.

Check out RTorrentCommonTasks for more information about multiple watch/download dirs.
