    Default Increase upload speed

Okay, so I've arbitrarily managed to see some of the speed tests on here before becoming approved. In a nutshell: holy crap. If I were a man, it would be metaphorical castration right there. However, being a woman, it's just shame. When I get the means (and by that, I obviously mean money), I plan on investing in a seed box. However, until that time, I'm wondering if anyone could give me pointers on optimizing my laptop's upload/download speed (upload being the priority for me, since download is already given priority on my computer). There are certain trackers I want to join, but considering where I am now, I'm not even close to being ready for them.

You can't go past the speeds your ISP is providing you with. So with around 1Mb of upload you should see ~120kB in your torrent client, MAX. You should also consider limiting your upload speed by 10% to keep it as a reserve (some routers will restart when you're too hard with the trafficing). Oh, and getting a seedbox doesn't mean you're getting to use the file any sooner, as you'd have to download it off of the remote server you're controlling .

really what a seedbox is used for is holding those few files that are currently hot on your tracker(s) of choice. with most of them having gigabit upload speeds its really designed for boosting your ratio with the bonus of hiding your local ip. It is possible to get a home/small business connection with a faster up speed, but where i live there fairly hard to get as they rely on fiber, and its only run in metro areas currently.

One of my trackers had a forum post awhile back where members were posting there up/down speeds, how much they paid per month, and what country/region they lived in. There were a lot from sweden, netherlands, and korea(there were others but those stand out in my memory) that just made me want to cry, ppl with symmetrical up/down hitting 200mb and only paying what equals about $30/mo usd.
