    Default Transmission which Ports??????

    Hello,
    i set up Transmission on my mac. Started the new download but it is very slow 10 kb only! Which port or ports should i use for the best reciption! Cheers!

    Do you have a router or firewall? For incoming peers open your Transmission settings, you should find your port there. You can test it right there too. For most people everything works by default. If other clients worked well then it's possible that a peer on the other side just can't provide you with a speed greater than 10 kb/s.

    hi mndoki, i haven't got a mac nor have i used transmission, but found this which may help!
    I have mostlry learn't through trial and error. and I am sure there will be other members here

    Just make sure your incoming port is forwarded, whatever that port may be.
    Check your gui or settings.json for the current port setup...

    any port between 49152 and 65535 should be fine since they're unlisted and not known p2p ports (aka they wont be blocked or throttled by your isp)
    make sure to forward whichever port you choose to use
    also, enable encryption if that option is available

    I fixed my problem!

    It was a problem with the router and forwarding to the right mac in my homenetwork!
