Default how many sites offer ways to build up ratio

I'm still new to the world of private trackers, but how many sites offer ways to build up ratio if you don't have a seedbox or a beastly internet connection to do it for you? I've heard things such as freeleech and 0day but have no idea what these mean.

Trackers will run either certain torrents, typically packs, as freeleech, so your download is not counted, but your upload is. There are variations on this, partial freeleech where for example 50% of your download, and all your upload is counted, and some even do a temporary sitewide freeleech where for a period of time, no download is counted across all the torrents on the site, but upload still is.

Other typical way is bonus points. You will get bonus for seeding torrents, often dependent on the number and/or size of the torrents you are seeding, but not on the actual data uploaded, and possible other activity like idling in IRC, posting in the forums, or uploading torrents.

You can then exchange the bonus points for upload credit.

Explore the tracker, read the FAQ's and you will figure out how to maintain a ratio, on each tracker. Most trackers will have a grace period, so until you have DL a certain amount ratio requirements don't kick in, allowing you a little leeway when you are starting out on a tracker.

0day refers to software, media, or information that is obtained either slightly prior to or on the day of the official release.
Freeleech is when the torrent doesnt go against your download only upload.

i found this ratio tracker list, which meens if you have a slow home connection all you have to do is seed for (usually) max 72 hours and your ratio is usually put up 1 to 1 weather you upload that much or not.

If you have a slow home connection i would recomend a seedbox my self, for 1 its safer and 2 a lot of good sites arent ratio less. You can pick a cheap starter box up for about £13.00 a month

    Hope this helps mate:)

i hate seedboxes but i have to admit it's a good way to raise your ratio, stupid but good...

as mentioned above, freeleech torrents and ratioless trackers are the things you should be looking for when you don't have braggable internet speeds. bonus points are another favorable thing for me to gain some upload credit with, though some trackers make it really-really hard for you to cash in some of that sweet thing. i suggest you read the rules/FAQs and forum (both on tracker and here, at T-I) to find out the most profitable solution, which usually tends to be larger number of small torrents

now, having mentioned the usual suspects, i can throw in some alternatives. first of which would be smarter snatching which basically means you should use all of your trackers simultaneously, if possible. download "a thing" from a tracker, where you have a considerable upload advantage. then cross-seed it to every other tracker you can think of to upp their ratio, and after a while, you can use those trackers as your source. the key to it all is cross-seeding - a poor mans way to stay alive with the side-effect of getting 2xwiser in torrenting than the average Joe (no offence to Joe. you tha man ) who donates money. and here's another thing i'm hesitant about - DONATING. yes, you are awarded a donators or vips tag and you'll get some upload credit with it but is it worth the cash. i mean if you're throwing money away, why not go for a seedbox. a seedbox doesn't just pay off in one tracker, you can use it for every tracker you have, thus saving money compared to donating to all of your trackers.

If you don't have a seedbox, and really can't afford one, then you're going to have to be careful.

What I did, before I had a seedbox, was manage my tracker usage carefully. I'd grab popular free-leech stuff even if I didn't want it, and use that to build up a good buffer. Stuff that I did want, I'd make sure to download as soon as it appeared on the tracker. It's a lot easier to maintain a good ratio if you download a new file that lots of people want, rather than something that already has tens or hundreds of seeds, but only one or two people downloading it.

I also made a point of downloading small files and keeping them seeded all the time. This doesn't work for all trackers, but there are a lot of trackers that give you points for every hour / day you seed a file (even if nobody is downloading it). It doesn't cost much in space or bandwidth to seed something small, and those points can be often be counted into upload credit, or on some generous sites a "ratio fix", so if you download a 10GB file that you really really want, only to find nobody else wanted it and it's decimated your ratio, you could buy 1.0 ratio on that file and repair your problem.

It helps if you can leave your computer + internet connection running 24/7, but I appreciate not everyone can do that.

If you have a slow internet connection AND you can't leave your computer running all the time, then ratioless trackers are your best bet. Many of the ratioless trackers require you to seed for a certain length of time - e.g. 48 hours, but will allow you to "jump off" the torrent for a while. So you can seed for 16 hours, turn your computer off overnight, then start seeding again when you wake up and turn your computer back on.

It is possible to keep a torrent account in good standing on a slow connection, it just takes a lot of work. For me, investing in a cheap seedbox was the best decision I ever made.

A nice little trick is to just download the Samples of a bunch of movies. Movies are better than TV shows for this since movies always attract new downloaders well after it's been uploaded, while TV Shows tend to have a real short shelf life (e.g couple of days).

Also try to avoid (non free leech) packs with lots of leechers. Most of those leechers aren't downloaders, but have only downloaded certain files from the pack and are seeding, so don't be fooled by those.

Some trackers offer Casino games where you can gamble upload credit, but I don't reccomend this to new users, especially if you struggle as it is to keep a good ratio.

IRC bonuses are a nice little boost. If you use a multi-network client like Trillian, it's easy enough to connect to the IRC chat when you load it up, hide the window and don't worry about it again for as long as you're online.

And of course, the easiest way is always to donate. Think of it as an investment. You may not won't to give up your money, but if you download wisely, those upload GB credits make it much easier to get off on the right foot, especially on trackers with Wait Times.

FreeLeech needs also a good connection to gain upload.
What you are looking for is seedbonus, where sites reward you for seeding for extented periods.

Else the best is, Ratioless Site, don't worry about any reason just download and seed.
A Decent Ratioless Tracker is Open now FuckYeahTorrents.
    Have a look.
