What you are wanting to do is called partitioning. A partition is a place on the hard drive that can be divided up into about any amount of space you desire. Firstly, I need to know what operating system you are currently using so I can advise you on how to properly create the partitions you are looking for.

    Some good info would be:
    • What size HDD do you have
    • How many partitions you want
    • What OS are you using
    • What are you attempting to have the outcome be.
Let us know the above info so we can finish helping you :)

I would google freeware partition HDD. There are some great programs out there that are free and do exactly what you want. Be careful though that you don't download any spyware or something. But in all likely hood are the first results you get in google good ones from respectable download websites.

I suppose it depends how your 2 HDDs are made to look like 1.
How are they combined? From bios, like raid 0 or jbod? If it's raid 0 it should actually be faster this way...

Linux can be very powerful but only if you know how to use it. :)

Raid 1 is for redundancy - mirror (hdd 2 has the same thing as hdd1 - if one of them dies you still have your data). This is what I have at home on my Centos fileserver (it's a redhat linux).
Raid 0 is called striping - data is distributed on the 2 HDDs, when you save a file it uses both HDDs to write it - some pieces to hdd1, other pieces to hdd2, so as a result read and write speed will be faster than on one hdd.
So for speed clearly raid 0.

This is a dedicated server you got there, maybe VPS? I don't know the company.

Slow speed can be caused by many things:
    - small VPS, many people use the same hardware - maybe post specs or link to service so we can take a look?
    - bad swarm (not good, or not enough peers to upload to) - try with some more/bigger/more popular torrents?
    - if you're archiving same time, sure that can kill speed of HDD, maybe try seeding without it first so you can see if it's really the rar (or not) that kills your speed.

If you're looking to upload maybe you better use a simple seed server, building your own can clearly be complicated...
Obviously it's not the OS. If Linux is good for Google, it should be okay for a single server. :)

my server isnot vps is dedicated only mine I can upload anytime 110mb/s cpu is mine Im raring 150gb per hours its almost maximum speed a fastest cpu can get

only I couldnt make rtorrent work with raring my friedn told me try to make 2 HDD one of use for rtorrent download one is use for raring

or for same thing with windows I can chooseboth no extra cost to me problem I didnt like windows gui so much it look like suck my comment :D no machine NX is best looking I think no frozen or stack and speed is verry good

I dotn know what to do stay back with linux can rar fast can upload fast via cross ftp but when I open rtorrent some time raring slow and rtorrent speed is much more slowitslike 1mb/s download
instedof 50 60 mb/s this genereally what I get from rtoren as download speed its interesitng download speed always between 50-70 mb/s

I rerly see 20 mb/s from rtorrent I wonder how people seed 15mb/s only to me :D

Aah ok, then it's clearly just the torrent...
Well maybe you need to be lucky with the peers... depending on provider you might have good upload speed locally but overseas you have less... rather be selective with torrents, try to find fresh files and anticipate which will be popular :) And keep several torrents open, seeding, as I seen usually the good speed comes from a good combo of several torrents at the same time :)
