Thread: Cross seeding with Deluge

I know there is a tutorial on this but I just read it all and it doesn't help.

Basically I'm tying to increase my bonus in HDCina by boosting the 'Saving Inactive Torrents' contributing factor which is currently 0 for me.

I have located a file that is on HDC with no seeds.
The same file is on SCC with seeds.
I have downloaded the file to my seedbox running Deluge 1.3.1.
I effectively downloaded the file from HDC but as there are no seeds its not actually doing anything.

How do I upload the data to HDC? The only thing I can see that may help could be using the 'move storage' tab somehow?

Check the file name is it same on both tracker and it's size and if size is same rename the file that you download from SCC on HDchina they write HDchina in the end of the file

and about uploading go to there offered section and tell them what you have to upload
and when you get 15 vote from other members you can upload it

IMO, it is a big midtake to seed some inactive torrent on other tracker unless u r sure that the file will be 100 % hash cheking which in ur case wont!

In scc, most of files r rar archived whereas in hdc, they r unrared. so if u even unrar ur file to seed in hdc, due to the absence of seeder in hdc, the file wont be completed to 100 % and seeding wont start.

I am not sure how u can solve it if there is any!

Back to ur question: do u have any other client running on ur box? i mean rtorrent? If no, it will be difficult to unrar file in deluge. If u have rtorrent running in ur box, use the unrar plugin in that clinet to unrar the file downloaded from scc. Then add the torrent from hdc to deluge and give it the same path where u saved ur file. If u do it right, deluge will start the checking process and after completion, it will start to seed:)

Check that both torrent have equal number of file if there is extra file in HDchina just don't download that file

The HDC file is named the same as the SCC file - no HDChina on the end of the HDC file.
And I should have said how do I upload the data onto HDC by cross seeding as I'm not trying to upload a new torrent there.

Thanks dude you're right of course. I just had another look at the files and despite the file name and size being absolutely identical the SCC file is rared and the HDC one isn't. So as I only have Deluge on my seedbox I guess I'll have to find another file to cross seed.

But incidently how would I cross seed if the files were exactly the same?
