Thread: rTorrent not staying open on my seedbox [again]

I had the problem before that my rtorrent client wouldn't stay open when I close the SSH connection to my seedbox, so as advised in the thread I created, I started using rtorrent with screen so that it will stay open.
After the most recent reboot of my server, I can't use screen to start rtorrent or any program for that matter. It just gives me the error:

No more PTYs.
Sorry, could not find a PTY.

I tried searching for this error in Google but all I got was that it is some sort of permissions error.
Should I just reinstall screen or is there a solution to my problem?

Try $> ssh -t user@host1 htop to force pty allocation and see if that works. Sometimes when trying to run a screen you need to force it's rae but does happen. Switch user@host1 for your hostname.

@Dark_Nebula, "su abc" doesn't seem to be a valid command.
@SeedKing, should I replace just the word "user" with my username or the whole thing with the @ in between?
Just typing ssh -t myusername@host1 htop doesn't give me any result...

Any help is desperately needed as my seedbox is pretty much useless since I can't start my rtorrent and I can't access my Deluge, like I wrote in my other thread. :(

When you login with putty it should show something like [root@seed ~]# just use the root@seed part but change it for what yours shows. Does your seedbox providers support not help with this?
