Default Demonoid Help with torrents timing out

Hi fellas, I would like to have some help / guidance regarding an Issue I have with demonoid

My IP is from Mexico, Demonoid does not block mexican IPs , mexican ISPs block demonoid.

In the past I used a proxy to browse the site and my torrents would download / seed normally, sadly that changed in the last 2 months or so, when I believe my ISP also blocked my ability to download/upload to demonoid now all my torrents time out no download/upload happens plus no peers appear.

What can I do? Please let me have your ideas/ thoughts reagarding this, and if this was already answered please point me in that direction.

    Thanks

Try changing your default ports, but it's very unlikely that it will work. Does your ISP just block the server IP from Demonoid or do they try to cut of the whole bittorrent protocol? (I don't know if Demonoid uses the same server for tracker and website, but can you browse the website without a proxy?)

If that doesn't help you have basically three options here:

    • You either get a seedbox (like a remote computer, but in a datacenter with insane speeds), you won't use your own IP, because you download/upload to the trackers only via your seedbox. The downside to this is that it costs some money, but it's the safest solution. You won't have an ratio problems on any tracker, if you use it right, you don't have to keep your computer running all the time.
    • You can also use a VPN to leech/seed your torrents, but this isn't allowed with allowed of trackers. It's also not for free and it's basically that every connection goes from your computer to your VPN (Virtuel private network) server and you also won't be seed/leeching with your own IP, but everything goes through your home connection as well. It will make everything a lot slower, but it's a lot cheaper and also easier.
    • You can also just try to get into higher level trackers and don't use Demonoid anymore. It's basically for free, but the better the tracker the more likely you will need a seedbox. This will obviously give you no security and exposes you. FYI, on most high level trackers are VPN and public proxies strictly forbidden and they will ban you. (The same applies for T-I, security reasons)

Thanks a lot magister for your fast reply.

No I cant I also tried demoind's IP adress on both browser and client and didn't work.

It seems that seedbox is my only option here my only problem is that I hate banks and there is no way to get a seedbox without using one... well guess I can also request the demonoid torrent I need on another tracker an wait for it to be filled.

    Damn mexican ISPs.

You can setup a paypal account with a pre-paid credit card. the type you can get from grocery stores, pharmacies etc... no need for a bank account.

I'm having this problem as well, Has anyone had any success in uploading and downloading torrents from demonoid using an IP from Mexico? Maybe I'll just have to use a different tracker like SeedKing said...

Arnulfo if you are in Mexico and would like to use demonoid the only ways are the ones advised by Magister.

In other words, unless something changes with mexican laws you can only hope for a seedbox or a VPN to keep using demonoid.

Changing the torrent client wont make any difference since the ISP is blocking both the site (along with its IP, already tried that) and the bit torrent protocol.

If you find a way please post.

Hi Maelstrom, yes I am in Mexico, I guess I'll just stop using demonoid, it's weird that just this tracker is blocked if it doesn't really have what you'd call exclusive content... BTW any tips you can give me for mantaining good ratio while using our beloved ISPs? (I'm currently using Infiernitum )

Well its not weird if you consider that presioned by the US authorities Deimos was arrested here in Mexico (dont remember where I saw that though), if you want to know a little but more try this link Chicago Noticias, Illinois, Fotos, Videos, México, Tecnología, Música, Comunidad, Familia, Estilos its in Spanish.

Tips for a good ratio... try trackers that will reward your seeding time with bonus points that you can later exchange for traffic.

You can also leave your computer on all day and night and seed forever.

Another one would be to cross seed, you download the file from a ratio free tracker and seed it on that hard to seed one, try the recent releases, they work better.

An finally as advised by magister, get a seedbox, you can have the lousiest ISP in Mexico for 15 USD (cablevision in Mexico city at least), and pay 20 to 40 USD for a nice seed box service, that way you wont pay the 55 USD Telmex ask for their shitty connection, plus you get usually a 100 Mbps seedbox with 300Gb space.

Goodluck mate Im currently saving to go for axtel 20 Mbps simetric service for 80 USD per month, still thinking about it though...
