Thread: Irssi auto-dl + waffles ? (+ruTorrent UI)

Hi all,

I need some help setting the autodl irssi script up to work with waffles.fm. I tried for some time yesterday but I simply couldn't get it to work...

Waffles FAQ states:

1. First, start your client and connect to the P2P-net servers by typing: /server irc.p2p-network.net
2. Next, you need to register your nickname with IRC services: /msg NickServ REGISTER password email , replacing with your password and email, obviously.
3. Once you have registered your nickname, you need to add that nickname to your profile page so that the Invite Bot will recognize you. To do that, browse to your profile edit page and insert the nickname you just registered in the "IRC Nickname" field, like so:

4. Finally, you can join the Waffles chat channel by typing /msg Waffles invite . When the bot sends you an invitation to the channel, you may join using /join #waffles.fm

I tried to make irssi do that aaaaall evening, well, I couldn't do it.

Does it work anyway? Is there anybody here who runs autodl with waffles and who could explain to me how he configured what?


Just to mention that: The script works fine with other trackers I am using. Just waffles won't let me into their announce channel :S

Waffles don't announce on irc, so you won't get this working. Waffles does have RSS feeds, so you can use that as an alternate for auto downloading torrents, until such a time as they announce on irc.

On waffles IRC-FAQ page itself they say, that #waffles.fm-announce on p2p-net is the tracker's announce channel... are you sure?

yeah that is outdated. They don't currently announce, not sure if they plan to in the future or not.

Get what.cd and use irssi on it, works great, the gap between the two is only widening it seems.

But if you insist on using a seedbox on waffles, look into flexget, its the autodl of rss.. just not as neat or effecient.
