    Default autodl-irssi filter question

I just configured autodl-irssi this weekend on my Seedbox and had a few questions.

First, I have configured autodl for 3 trackers. When I just put in "resolutions, encoders, max size and sources" information, all 3 sites will auto download.

However, it is when I try to target specific TV Shows is where the problem seems to be.

What is the difference between "match releases" and "TV Show/Movie" input parameters? Most of the guides I have seen never have both entered, only one or the other. I know match releases is looking for a certain release but if you put in match releases and TV Show/Movie, will the query be an "And" or an "Or"?

For TL, I set up a filter for "Fairy Tail" last night. I entered the Match Site, 720p and for "TV Show/Movie" I put Fairy Tail. I saw that it was on TL but it didn't download. I was thinking about trying the match releases option but I just wanted to get some opinions of people here as well.

/mods please delete if I am not suppose to mention file names on trackers.

    Thanks

I, personally, always use the 'match release' filter, because it's just easier and more reliable. This is also the only way you can specify things like release group and 'repack' or stuff like that.

I haven't looked up into how those filters work explicitely, but it's basically just an easier way to fill it in.

I think you are better off with just using the 'match release' category.
For grabbing the newst Ubuntu releases you just have to put *Ubuntu* in the filter and then it will grab everything that has Ubuntu in the name. The category, size is irrelevant it will also grab releases like ...Ubuntutest...

This way you can also specifiy the release group and also things like repack or stuff like that. The former one is nice because some trackers have their internal encoders freeleech.

Magister, thanks for the response. I actually had the match releases in there but at the last minute a few days ago, took them out. One last question, I know the * is for wild cards, I suspect ? is for spaces but I haven't gotten that confirmed. For match releases for say Fairy Tail for example, would I put "*Fairy?Tail*" or "*Fairy Tail*"?

? is a wildcard for a single character (space or otherwise). So "*Fairy?Tail*" would match both "Fairy Tale Episode X" and "Fairy.Tail.Ep.X"

Nightwalke, thanks for the reply. It is interesting that your filter doesn't have "[]" around Horriblesubs as the torrent name starts with "[Horriblesubs] Fairy Tail"

    You are so wrong.
There is only one flaw: autodl doesn't use regrex and that's why a RSS filter is uselss.

    For example:
*Fairy.Tales* in an autodl filter will grab anything that has this kind of parameter in the torrent name.
The same example in regrex will grab everything.

Spaces are usually represented by a '-' or a '.' in torrent files. I just checked this particular torrents for you and it is released as ...Fairy.Tales...
This means that you need to put either [HorribleSubs].Fairy.Tail.* in your AUTODL filter or just *Fairy.Tail* in the match release category to group every Fairy Tail release from every release group.

If you need help feel free to PM me, but keep in mind that asking for an invite is not considered help.
