Default how to balance upload/download speeds on private trackers?

I am using a seedbox now to speed my connection but have been able to get an accurate speedtest. My problem is if I limit my upload speeds to much my download speeds are horrible. I have been trying to adjust but I am frustrated because I am wasting so much of my upload limit from my seedbox on these torrents.
For example right now I have 2 torrents downloading. I have adjusted my upload speed to 200kb and download speed at unlimited( I have tried differnt upload speeds 50kb,100 kb) but no matter what I do my upload speed is 2 to 3 times more than my download speed.
These current 2 torrents have downloaded 3.1 and 3.5 gb each but one has uploaded 21.7gb and the other 13.3 gb.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

That is a VERY good thing in the private torrenting world. Why would you think it's bad if you're uploading a lot?

Just what i want to say Many of users have problems with upload and you should be happy that you have so many upload. Now what trackers you are downloading this two torrents? Probably demonoid... If you will use any other private trackers you will see that upload is always the problem. And it's really depends what speed have the uploader of the torrent. If he have it slow than your download speed will be slow how many seeders if any are on the torrent you are downloading? Also on a seedbox you have probably the same download/upload connection speed so no need to limit any of it only if you have month cap.

Where do I start? You've gotten some good answers already. It's not entirely clear to me what you are trying to do and you haven't provided any real detail. So this is a little like saying my car won't go fast, what is wrong? Without any information, it's impossible to say.

You want to limit your upload speed because of some 'upload limit' that you didn't describe. What upload limit? In general, it is an expected result that your download will decrease if you throttle your upload. The bittorrent protocol uses a choking algorithm called tit for two tats to discourage people from doing exactly that. Otherwise many people would only leech and never share. Not to mention that many seedbox vendors bias their configuration to favour upload because most people are trying to build ratio with their seedboxes.

The answer may simply be that the seeders on those particular torrents have low bandwidth. Or it may be that your settings are screwy and exacerbating the situation. But you didn't provide any pertinent information that would let us help you troubleshoot something like that.. e.g. what torrent client, version, details of your configuration file, is this problem tracker specific, what tracker, what type of torrent, with how many seeders and leechers, and anything else that might be relevant.

Without more information all I can suggest is that you revert to default settings and see if the "problem" resolves when you try different torrents and different trackers.

No offense, but I think you got the purpose of a seedbox wrong. It will always take more time to download something than downloading it directly with your home connection. You first download it to your seedbox and then you download it from your seedbox to your computer.
A seedbox helps users to seed, to keep a good ratio, which you obviously don't want.

How high is the download speed? Is it a fresh torrent?
If your download speed is <10MB/s and your uploadspeed is still higher than you really need a better tracker.
On every private tracker you need to keep a good ratio or you will get banned. Nobody will invite you to a tracker if you say you only want to download, but throttle your uploadspeed. On ratioless trackers it's also forbiden to throttle your uploadspeed.

Unless you have a dedicated french OVH server your upload and download speeds should be roughly the same.

noooooo these are on the public trackers. God I wish I had those kind of uploads on the private trackers. Soooo sorry I thought I had put that in the post lol

Yeah I am trying to limit my upload on the public trackers. I dont mind seeding 1 to 1 or even a little more on public... but 7 or 8 or 10 to 1 is taking too much of my bandwith

Damn without having put that in the original post I must have sounded like a moron lol

Hahahahahahahahaahaha, now THIS was a funny misunderstanding!! Hahahahaha!

OK, so, why would you want to download from public trackers in the first place? You're at 33% here, you should have some respectable trackers by now I'm sure :)
Well, personal preference I guess. What BT client are you using? If you tell us that, we could better guide you :)

I am only downloading from public trackers for outside seeding for TL which I am up to over 1.0 ratio at 6.5gb upload. My goal is to get high ratios and huge buffer before I really start to download from their normally so that I can have a little wiggle room if I download something huge and then nobody else ever wants it again for me to seed lol

I am using Deluge and my seedbox is whatbox

By now you should be well past the wait times on TL so there's no need to outseed anymore. With your current ratio you should have unlimited slots as well. Just start snatching everything that's new in the movies categories and your seedbox will do the rest, you'll see.

You're really beating your head against the wall then. Many people using public trackers either have slower home connections or are explicitly limiting their upload speeds. And your speedbox is conceived and configured for the antithetical position. Not to mention that deluge is a very aggressive client, further exacerbating this.

The real solution is to use private trackers, for a plethora of reasons. You can surely find content from private trackers e.g. scene releases to cross seed to TL. Or just do as p2p_seeder suggests.

If you *must* use public trackers, you can probably reduce the differential somewhat through your client settings. Better to use urtorrent e.g. explicit throttling per torrent. Or rtorrent e.g. reduce min_peers_seed, max_peers_seed. But no matter what you do, it will be inherently lopsided.
