Seedbox and public trackers?
Hello! I've been thinking for a while to get a seedbox to download a great deal of huge stuff due to I can't keep the computer on all day at home, but since I'm not a member of a private tracker (yet), would it be it safe to use a public tracker instead (safe regarding speed/ratio) or is better to use seedboxes only with private trackers?
For public tracker I'm talking about Thepiratebay and the like.

Most seed box companies won't alllow this. You will have to check with each company individually to see their policy on this. I know off the top of my head that Pulsedmedia.com does allow public trackers.
But in general most do not allow this. Once you fine a place you want to do business with I would suggest emailing them about it unless they have it stated on their site some where.

As Enigma78 already said you need to check if your seedbox provider allows that, only a couple do that.
The speeds on a public tracker are usually EXTREMELY slow 8couple of KB/s) and I would suggest you to get a very cheap seedbox.
If you have use a seedbox on a public tracker your ratio will always be very high, because people usually use home connections and don't like to seed.
With safe do you mean security? It's obviously less secure to use a public tracker, but if you don't use it to get the newest files, use a seedbox and maybe a VPN and encrypted traffic you should be safe.
I'm sure you will get some amazing private trackers in the future.

Now, to answer your question, most seedbox companies (as stated) strictly forbid the use of their servers on public trackers. Most public trackers such as PirateBay etc.. do not even require you to keep a ratio (for my knowledge) so if you are strictly using a seedbox for downloading you will not be using your money very effectively. The reason seedbox companies are not fond of public trackers are because of DHT/PeerExchange which puts the swarm at risk and the seedbox company.
The best advice is (which was already given) is check with your preferred seedbox company and ask them. For a list of reviews on seedboxes and any information on them you can check out this section of the forum. Seedboxes
