I usually use ConvertXtoDVD (Shareware - but keygen is available) to encode the .avi - and then I build & burn with IMGBurn (Freeware).
IMGburn is also very good at burning DVD ISO's.
well i dnt know for sure but my logical mind says it will not be possible to truly convert camrip to dvdrip as the quality of the movie will not increase.
I use convert to DVD but it doesn't make it DVD rip . When you download a film wether it's cam rip , TS rip or DVD rip . How do users get hold of the DVD rip ? Do they do it themselfs and upload it after ? I'm trying to make the quality of the film I download to a DVD rip quality .
A DVDrip is the extraction of video from a DVD which is usually encoded in xvid inside an avi container. 'Convert to DVD' or any other 'video to DVD' converter for that matter just transcodes already encoded video back to DVD compliant files so you can burn to a DVD-R. You will always lose quality this way and more so with multiple transcoding of a file. You can't make quality. Quality encoding is derived from a quality source. Choose your torrents wisely and stay away from cams, TS, & TC sources unless you're truly desperate. And if available download the sample first or be disappointed in the end.
I dont download nothing but dvd rip files . I was just woundering how people did it if they downloded a cam version and had some kind of software to make it a dvd rip and upload it once they was done .
DVDRips has nothing to do with xvid or avi, it is simply stating that the source of the encode was a DVD, they may be avi, mkv, rmvb, x264, XviD, etc.
Encoding DVDs can be done in many, many ways, if you don't want to get too deep on it, just use something like AutoGK or RipBot. You can, also use a GUI without automation like MeGUI or Handbrake, or just drop it all and use a command line.
Great part of encoding lies in the presets and the AVS scripting, you will need AVISynth for that.
CAMs and TS are not simple, they require a great knowledge on filters and AVISynth since the source is very bad (a TS is nothing more than a CAM with a line audio). You also won't find the sources for it, the releasers need to actually go to the theaters and record the movie or either buy a source.
Way better forums to know everything about encoding are doom9 and doom10. From a simple bot encode to x264 development.

~_O You can't make a Ford Model T and make it a Ford F-150. If it's a cam, it's a cam.
As far as "prettying" the quality up, that has already been answered by our awesome members. In terms of getting it onto a DVD that will play in a DVD player, check out VSOConvertXDVD - works like a charm!
