    Default audl-irssi

Would someone be so kind as to walk me through setting up autodl-irssi on my slice? I've read all the tutorials here, at private tracker forums and elsewhere that I could find but I always get stuck.

You might get more replies if you post what you've tried so far.

I get stuck right after using wget to get the autodl package. I believe the furthest I got was using Canadian's tutorial located Here. The step I get stuck at is with opening conf.php because I can't seem to find that after I install autodl.

    Code:
    $find / -name 'conf.php'
I think this is the command to search for your conf.php file.

No offense Bluntedking, but you're not giving us much to go on yet. To do much more than guess, we need to know each step you did, the order you did them in, the exact wording of any unexpected errors and any other details that may be relevant. The whole installation hinges on details and just one misstep might keep you from success.

You said that you followed Canadian's tutorial. And you mentioned that you got as far as the conf.php step. So I've marked that in orange. Can you confirm that you did each step below without any errors up until you tried to copy to conf.php. And exactly what happened at that step that wouldn't let you proceed further?

NOTE: Feralhosting claims that this is now done by default on all of their boxes, so it shouldn't be necessary with them.

    apt-get -y install libarchive-zip-perl libnet-ssleay-perl libhtml-parser-perl libxml-libxml-perl libdigest-sha1-perl libjson-perl libjson-xs-perl libxml-libxslt-perl
Second note, the seedbox provider will most likely have irssi installed. If they don't just ask them to do it, I'm sure they will oblige.

Then, you need to ssh into your box and install autodl-irssi. I did it like this:

    mkdir -p ~/.irssi/scripts/autorun
    cd ~/.irssi/scripts
    wget -O autodl-irssi.zip https://sourceforge.net/projects/aut...0.zip/download
    unzip -o autodl-irssi.zip
    rm autodl-irssi.zip
    cp autodl-irssi.pl autorun/
    mkdir -p ~/.autodl
    touch ~/.autodl/autodl.cfg
Now, optionally (but very helpful!) install the rutorrent plugin. I recommend this! Even though I run mostly deluge, I have the rutorrent plugin to configure autodl-irssi, but it drops the .torrent files in the Deluge watch folder.

Now "cd" to the plugins directory. On a feral hosting box, this will be something like:

    cd ~
    cd www/*.feralhosting.com/public_html/rutorrent/plugins
On a dedicated seedbox, it might be something like:

    cd /var/www/rutorrent/plugins
Now install the autodl-irssi rutorrent plugin:

    svn co https://autodl-irssi.svn.sourceforge...t/autodl-irssi
    cp autodl-irssi/_conf.php autodl-irssi/conf.php
    ...

Edit: I figured it out but now I have no clue how to set up the filters.

Thanks for the additional details Bluntedking, it makes all the difference in the world. I'm just rushing out the door, but at a glance it looks like you may be searching in the wrong directory here. In the picture below.. 1. the file unpacked, 2. the package is good, 3. it appears that you copied the file successfully.. but 4. you change to the home directory (why?). Then 5, can't find the file. Then change to a different directory and can't find it there (6, 7).

I'll be back shortly and double check that I didn't miss something obvious here. But in the meantime, can you go back to the plugins directory and see if conf.php is there? Or do a global search for it.

    .....So $ cd /www/yadda_yadda.feralhosting.com/public.html/rutorrent/plugins
    ..........$ ls -a

    .....or $ find / -name conf.php
    .....or $ locate conf.php

nvm.. I just refreshed my page and see that you figured it out.. ..yeaaaaaa
okay, the filters are pretty easy.. i'll explain those when I get back, if Magister doesn't beat me to the punch ..

Thanks for your help. I'm pretty dyslexic when ti comes to Linux. I think I might have a general idea of what I'm doing with the filters here, but I'm usually wrong. So here is what I have so far.

I've created a separate filter for each of my weekly TV shows. In the general tab I put the match sites category as the tracker I want the show from. I set max = 1 weekly.

TV/Movies tab: tv show name (for the sake of argument, let's say Weeds)
    seasons: 7
    episodes: 11-25
    res: SD
    encoder: XviD
    source: hdtv

And my global action is to drop it in my Deluge watch directory. Did I do this all right? And is it going to download only one episode of the show and not any reuploads due to trumping, etc.?
