    Default Making an archive!

Okay; so, I've been handsomely rewarded with the idea of making an archive with some of what I personally think are the best pieces of media I've attained over the past year or so. I want to keep doing this for a good progressive amount of time, building, adding, and compiling more things that I seem to find fit for this project. However, I've been looking at a bunch of search engines and I can't really find a sufficient solution to a certain program, method of compilation that would fit this certain size of what I'm working with. I'm not sure if I'm dumb, or if I'm blind to obvious answers.. but, I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Can someone puhhlease help me with this! Much love!

It's not clear to me exactly what you mean by "archive"? Are you trying to choose a program that can make compressed archives? That might be program such as Winrar or Gzip that will take all of your media and archive it into one volume (or a set of volumes).

Or perhaps you mean a program to catalog or organize your media? Or tools to build a website? If you describe the end result you have in mind, someone here will surely have suggestions for you.

    Hi Ekline,
    1) Use Winrar
    2) Select all the files that you want to archive
    3) Right click and Add to archive
    4) Select Compression method to 'Best' (selecting this option will take archiving slow. but size will be reduced to a great amount)
    5) Select Split to volume to bytes. You can find wide range of size split options to fit into a pendrive or dvd. You can specify custom size too.

Hope you got what you are looking for!

Could you possibly be searchin for a way to organize that? Such as file management, renaming folders and bulding a logic standard?

7zip > winrar in virtually every way.

I know this seems of a stupid question of sorts, but, would someone be inclined to make a tutorial for this process of archiving?

Basically all archive programs are the same. Either gather your files in one place then highlight them and right click then select "add to archive" or make an archive and drag the files you want in. Or use a command to do it. I used winrar for as long as I can remember then switched to 7zip because it seems faster to me but they work exactly the same as far as adding content to an archive.

    1) Install Winrar. I hope you wont have problem with that.

    2) Select the files you want to 'archive' and 'right-click'

    3) Now Click 'add to archive'

    4) Choose 'Best' in 'Compression method'. Then Click 'OK'. Your compression will take time and your archive will be ready.
If you want to split your archive into specific volumes,
Example if the file size is 800mb and you want to write it to a CD, then select 700mb from the 'split to archive'. It will yield you TWO FILES one with 700mb and the other with 100mb. So you can write it into 2 CDs.

Tutorial with 7zip. As you can see, it is mostly the same.

And yes, my font rendering sucks.
