Thread: Questions?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to read my thread. I have been using public torrents/trackers for quite a while, but am new to the private tracker scene, so I have a couple of questions. First off, what is a seed box, all I know is that it is something that speeds up downloads and uploads, and how do I get one? Second, is ratio like how much I have downloaded and how much I have uploaded? Third, for sites like IPT, do I need a new program, because I normally use uTorrent, do I need something like BitTorrent or even something else? Fourth, what is freelecch. Because I saw that in the IPT review, is that like where you download and not upload, like a leecher? Fifth, what is SCC, I see that private tracker a lot, is there like a list of all the Private Trackers along with their acronyms, and is IPT a good site for general torrent (i.e. games, movies, muic, TV shows etc.) and what IS the best private tracker? Sixth, by using private trackers (like IPT), does that decrease the chance that I will get caught (like for downloading), if so, is there anything else that I could do that would further decrease my chances of getting caught? Seventh and final, how do I increase my progress bar here in T-I?

A seedbox is a server/computer somewhere else that you can rent for a certain amount of time. It is usually very fast compared to your home connection because they are in data centers that are connected to very, very fast internet cables and seedboxes normally have at least 100 MB/s. You have to buy a seedbox from a company usually by the month. The price varies by the speed, hdd space, and other factors. You can find reviews of various companies at Seedbox Reviews.

Ratio is Amount Uploaded/Amount Downloaded. If you upload 100 GB and download 50 GB, your ratio will be 100/50 or 2.0; you always want a ratio of at least 1.0 since that means you shared as much as you took. You do not need a new program. uTorrent is fine, the only thing to watch out for is version, as some trackers only allow the newest versions of uTorrent. There is no BEST tracker imo. It all depends on what you're looking for (movies, games, tv, etc.), the quality you want (SD, HD, scene, etc.), and various other factors. Using private trackers does decrease your chances of getting caught, but it is still not completely safe. Using a seedbox makes it almost impossible to get caught since you download using the server's ip, not your own. You can increase your progress by posting and by getting reputation (ie being a productive part of the community). The requirements for each level of the progress bar is here: Torrent-Invites FAQ. 1)A seedbox is a computer connected to a different network, it can be used to download and upload files, then from there you connect to the seedbox and you download them.You can get one from different suppliers, check the seedbox subforum for more info.
2)Ratio is the amount you upload divided by the amount you download.
3)Read the rules for each private tracker, some allow utorrent some don't.
4)Freeleech is a torrent that you can grab and won't count towards your download but it will towards your upload.
5)SCC is SceneAccess.
6)IPT is a good site.
7)There is no best one, they are different from each other.
8)Yes they decrease and yes, there are further ways to hide like VPN for example.

o_O I don't know of a single tracker that does not allow uTorrent...but yes, one should check to make sure
