Thread: autodl irssi Help

So about a month ago I bought a seedbox to get some better and faster ratios and content. Lately I have found out about the autodl irssi plugin. I have tried to get it to work but I haven't been able to. It just won't seem to download the files. I try it with both IPT and TL. If anyone has some helpful information that would be great. So far I have added the cookies to the preferences, so i'm not sure why it's not downloading.

No doubt this is frustrating you. But you'd get a lot more replies if you explained in detail how you installed the autodl-irssi plugin, what client you're using, the exact wording of any error messages that you've seen and any troubleshooting steps that you've undertaken so far.

Without these crucial details, no one can do much more than guess. I equate a request without any details as "I can't be bothered to post the details, but won't someone take several hours of their time to solve it for me step by step?" That impression may not be accurate, but it does cross my mind. So I see you post and want to help.. but you're making it a Herculean task. And frankly I'd rather help someone else who did make the effort to post details. Now there are kind souls around here that will help no matter what. But post some details and inevitably more people will try to help you out + you'll have it sorted faster.

Does that make sense to you? Autodll-irssi is absolutely indispensable once you get it up and running. Trust me, It's worth the effort.

I understand and I'm sorry for the lack of detail. I'll try my best right now.

So Autodll-irssi came pre-installed on my box. I don't have SSL or root access to it (it comes from useed.org) so I cannot edit the base files/filters. I have set up the cookies with both IPT and TL through the gui, and I think both have been done correctly. The IPT cookie I got the uid=XXXXX; pass=ABCDABCDABCD. And for the TL I copied and pasted the RSS feed from my profile into the section correct section in the Autodll-irssi Trackers menu.

After doing that I went to try and set up some filters. I was hoping to pick up Suits and The Colbert report from either IPT or TL. So under the filter tab I select new, and name it Suits. Then under the "General" field I have Display name="Suits", and match name ="Suits*" For the "Match Sites" I have both TL and IPT selected. Besides having it only download once a week, the rest of the general field is blank.

Under the TV/Movie tab, I have TV Show/movie="Suits" Season='1' and Episodes=10-15. Under the Encoders I have Xvid and DivX. The rest is blank.

Music, advanced, action, and WOL tabs are all also blank.

Under the IRC servers menu I attempted to set it up with IPT, however I am not sure if it is correct, or if I even need it.

I have changed nothing on the preferences menu, and I have gone to the help menu many, many times

This only works if you didn't get an error messages.

Look in the announce channel tab to get the information about the server and the channel, because I think you forgot the most important thing: to monitore the announce channels.

When you press ok you should get the message 'reading configuration files' and shortly after that you should hopefully get 'monitoring channel ipt.announce'. If you get that you know every is set up properly.

EDIT: Obviously you need to put in your username for the IRC channel, your password and if you haven't registered a nickname yet, also a valid e-mail address.

You select the one which says IRC Servers. (You can find the required info about the IRC servers either in the Announce Channels tab or on their website).

Okay. I thought I had that edited correctly. I went to change it to what I thought would work but I am not getting past the "reading config" Message. Here is a picture

Thanks for adding some details. It goes a long way towards to solving your issue.

Since your seedbox provider installed the autodl-irsssi plugin, we can tentatively assume that you have a working installation.
So you probably have a configuration error.. If your description is complete, then you've missed some steps along the way.

Plugin installed.. check
IPT cookie pasted into autodl-irssi | trackers.. check (you were logged into IPT when you grabbed the cookie, right?)
In autodl-irssi | preferences | action.. what is set for .torrent action? And what is the folder?
Can you confirm that your filter is enabled? (it is checked?)

And yes, it is essential that you are logged in and connected to IRC. This is the connection that triggers the download.
So we need the details of what you have done there to see what might be wrong/missing.

Also have you manually logged into IRC? So that we know that IRC is working /setup properly for you? And you need to be currently in IRC or have a tested auto-invite setup. Please provide your IRC details i.e. how you set it up (but not your nick or password, of course). And can we assume that you are using rutorrent? If so, then the status messages alluded to earlier will be in the lower window pane. Click on the autodl-irssi tab (on the bottom pane, not the main autodl-irssi icon on the top bar).

You are using the wrong port, because 6667 isn't for SSL encrypted traffic.
IPT is using port 6697 (common SSL port) for SSL.
Please always check out the tracker websites.
