Default Latest Deluge on seedbox instructions!

OK, I've got a seedbox that has VNC access and has Debain (i think) installed. I've managed with my very limited knowledge of Linux to install Synaptic and then Deluge, however, Deluge is massively out of date (0.5.93-1) so what I need is very simple step-by-step instructions of how to install the latest version (i assume I need to somehow update my sources?). Hopefully some kind person can point me in that direction as I've spent hours today trying to install it

    Hey r2k,

Following these instructions and fetching Deluge from sid repos will get you Deluge 1.3.2
    Installing/Linux/Debian/Squeeze

If you'd like to install the latest version of Deluge viz 1.3.3 you'll need to compile it from source which you can do by following these instructions (Its not hard at all):
    Installing/Source

If you have trouble anywhere, feel free to ask and I'll help in any way I can.

Thanks! Now, managed to get deluge installed and working, even the webui (so proud of myself being a linux newbie!). I've got a dedicated seebox with 100mbps line. The downloads seem to be maxing out at 11mib/s - is that right? If I add say 3 torrents or 1 its always around 11mib/s

Interesting! I've got a dedicated OVH server from xirvik (100mbps) also and large torrents (10gb+) fly down on that in minutes most of the time vs say 15mins on this box. Could that be because a lot of seeders use OVH boxes so its effectively box-to-box internally?

Yes well internal traffic can be transferred a lot faster. But a lot depends on the package you have. I personally use a 1 Gbps shared so I'm not very sure about the maximum speeds that you can reach but someone else on 100mbit can give you a better idea. I've heard though that it is around 10mbps.

OK! Now, next issue with Deluge. I know you can connect it locally deluge on your PC. But no idea how to find what my password and username should be? Any deluge experts here

Go to the Deluge Web UI and Enable Remote Connections (In Preferences->Daemon)

Then just do Step 7 and Step 8 in this guide and start the deluge daemon again: UserGuide/ThinClient
