Thread: Why can't I seed in Waffles?

hi everyone, I have many trackers such as IPT, TL, ST, FL. And it is very easy for me to seed in these trackers. but i dont know why it's very difficult and i cant even seed 1 MB there. please if someone can give me some tips( and i already downloaded torrents with many leechers and few seeders).

The best tip I can give you is to upload torrents. I do this myself and it gets my ratio acceptable.
I usualy go for audibooks, since there are already many music albums there.

That's just what I do keep this open to see what others say.

There's a chance that the torrents you downloaded are backed by seedboxes and/or the leechers are partial seeding (show up in the details as if they were leeching even if they are not)

Search for scene releases with 0 seeders and a couple of leechers, find the same release on a big tracker and download and cross-seed it. (any other release will do if you can find it elsewhere, but scene releases are easiest to find)
If the file is not too big you can search with google by using filesonic, megaupload, rapidshare and similar keywords and see if your lucky and get it from one of those places.
Remember, however, that individual file sizes must match to 100%, if a nfo or cover image is missing it doesn't matter but the mp3's or flac's should be identical.
Use the 'see full list' command on torrent details page on 'Num files' and 'Peers' to see the file sizes and that the leechers aren't like 99.9% complete because there's nothing for you to seed if that is the case.
If you haven't done cross-seeding before you should read a tutorial on the subject.

From my view point, cross seeding in waffles is mostly worthless thanks to the lack of leechers so I wouldnt waste my time trying to do so, by the time you acquire the files elsewhere it will probably be too late. As kevinflynn pointed out it's better to upload your own stuff, at least in the beggining. Once you get 2-3 GB's of buffer I suggest setting your utorrent to auto download all the albums that get added to the dubstep category, someone else actually pointed this out I think it was b2tb and I believe it's a great way to raise up your ratio as the albums in this category are by far the most snatched at waffles.

You can also set up your RSS reader to autodownload new "Waffles" instances. These files get are official waffle packages and get a lot of movement. You can also just keep checking back until you see one posted, but the soonest you jump on the torrent the better. There is one there right now but I would be hesitant on joining it now as it already has 21 seeders.

I just upload things as well. Sometimes it's difficult to find something Waffles doesn't already have, luckily I have a truckload of obscure Metal. Find some cds in your collection that you can upload in different formats/encodes.

Well I don't know how you do your cross-seeding but I can tell from experience that I managed to build a 4.5 GB buffer in two days with my slow connection, I wouldn't be suggesting this approach if I knew it didn't work, but it does (at least for me).
Uploading is of course the best thing you can do (you get 100% of the file size uploaded), but for users with relatively slow connections I would recommend to revive old torrents as those who have been stuck with a torrent for months will only be grateful to see that someone is seeding whereas if you upload a new torrent with a slow connection the downloaders will get frustrated with the speed.
But the OP never said how fast his connection was so my advice might be not so good for him and the RSS approach could serve him better.

Ebooks/Audiobook/Elearning are good for seeding in Waffles.
