Using cuteftp, my question is when i connect to a seedbox through cuteftp is everything between the seedbox and ftp encrypted?

cuteFTP does support for FTPS - FTP over SSL. FTPS is an encrypted flavor of the FTP, so yeah.

Its only encrypted if you choose FTPS though and your FTPserver on the box supports it and/or is set up to use it. (Usually are though)
CuteFTP by defualt uses FTP protocol, which is not encrypted.

well of course you have to configure a SSL certificate to set your server as FTPS.

What about if you use Ftp with TLS/SSL Explicit? or does it have to be SFTP(secure shell)? I am a bit confuse here

SFTP is not the same as FTPS. TLS/SSL is the way. go through this http://support.discountasp.net/KB/a3...-over-ssl.aspx
