    Default Wireless connection problem

Well I have a problem with my router or my wireless from PC... I don't know... The problem is that when I turn on the wireless on my pc and connect to wireless router from home it works sometimes hours, some times just 30 seconds- 5 minutes. How can I resolve this?

My router is a DLink- 524.

upgrade firmware and...if you have torrent client running without any upload limitations, it may sometimes overwhelm your router and force it to restart. limit your upload speed by 10%

firmware is upgraded. I have upload limitation, I don't think that's a problem. Even now when I'm trying to write this, I need to enable and disable the wireless to be sure that this will post in my thread...

Can you test it with another wireless device, this will allow you to isolate the problem to either the router or the PC wireless adapter.

Do a search for wireless networks, and try and use a channel that is unique from any other networks in range.

Just one wireless newtwork can my pc detect besides my own one. It makes the same problem but I think because the speed is really low from that network.. just 1- 2 mb/s.

All of the advice that has been proffered so far has been good. Connection storms and buffer overflows from too many torrent connections, in particular are common. But as you have an upload limit and don't see the problem on a wired connection.. And have tried upgrading your router firmware + are using the default wireless configuration..

You need to discern whether the issue follows the router or your PC. As Arakasi's suggested, try changing wireless channels. And if at all possible try to test with another wireless computer to discern whether the problem follows the PC or router. Or alternately, if your PC is portable, can you try it on someone else's wireless for an hour or two? If the problem seems to lie with the PC, then I'd want to reinstall your wireless driver /software on your PC. And if it follows the router, I'd try to borrow another router to confirm.. then give Dlink hell.

agreed with the previous post, the router's life is dying or a change to your pc in the previous couple days could of caused some malfunction. Try doing a system restore, or time machine, whatever your OS. Try connecting to another router just to test.

i'm going back in time...how did this problem occurre? did you get a new internet plan or a new router or was everything old/tested but started to malfunction?
if it's the old setup, them either your OS settings have changed or your router boo'd itself. i remember my old router gave up its spirit in a weird way. the annex-m setting didn't work anymore and i had to resolve to a weaker setup, thus having lower speeds. i bet something overheated in your router aswell.

if it a new router, them all you have to do is find the right setup. can you change the channel to "auto"? you should really enable the security option and go with the WEP shared key protection. you could also mess with the DTIM numbers by going with "1" instead of the default "3".
