I'm new to the video editing scene, so I wanted to ask if it's feasible to layer videos like photoshop does images on final cut pro x? If not, what software would I need? Thanks.

Moved into a new thread.
Sony vegas, Adobe premiere, and Final Cut Pro
I personally love Vegas - Can do some epic stuff in there
But if i had a mac id prolly learn Fine cut pro as i think its more of the mainstream professional editing tool
sony vegas pro 8 and sony acid are best for beginners. Most schools use this program or adobe. adobe is more complicated
i've heard that sony vegas is the best!
I like iMovie. Simple but gets the job done for school assignments.
Adobe After Effects.
But as has been said already, Its rather tricky. I found it quite hard to learn and eventually gave up with video editing anyway.
There are some good tutorials online though, a quick Google will uncover many sites.
For professional purposes, I recommend sony vegas AND adobe after effects, for everything else, movie maker is simple to use.
Moved to resolved issues.
