Thread: Torrents finish and go to paused in rtorrent

Hello



I have rtorrent installed on a little laptop inside a drawer in my house and it runs great. I've added like 25 or so torrents and now when I add a new one it downloads fine but when it's done it goes right away to "paused" rather than start seeding right away. The only way I can find to make it start seeding is by removing the torrent and adding it again.

I have a feeling this is because I have hit a limit in a setting somewhere, but where?

My rtorrent.rc file is pretty much the default one as I'm not well versed in messing with these settings.

What do I change to fix this so that my torrents start to seed as soon as they are done?

There are settings in rutorrent that I can't find in the rtorrent.rc file such as "max number of open files" I'm betting this is how to fix this but I'm not sure and I don't know the correct wording to add it to rtorrent.rc

check to make sure that you are deleting the torrents that are finished properly it sounds like you have exhausted your disk space, when you remove any torrent remove with data

How many lines in that .rtorrent.rc did you uncomment for your home use?

Lines such as
schedule = ratio,60,60,"stop_on_ratio=200,200M,2000"

schedule = low_diskspace,5,60,close_low_diskspace=100M

Would be your main offenders for stopping torrents. If you have uploaded more then 200MB and a ratio of 2.0 WHILE downloading your torrent would stop instantly on completion. Comment that line out and see how you go.

I have plenty of disk space but commenting out:

schedule = low_diskspace,5,60,close_low_diskspace=100M

solved my problem. I'll just keep an eye on my disk space myself.
