Thread: Torrent is incredibly slow

About 1 in 10 torrents i download, they will go exceedingly slow. They won't even reach 5kB/s, and it also makes any internet use for me impossible. However, every 9 out of 10 torrents will go at a steady 1.0MB/s while i browse the internet. At the moment i'm downloading Breaking Bad (Seasons 1-4) and i can't reach 3kB/s. My broadband is capped at peak times, to 2MB but i still normally get 200kb/s during these times.



Can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening.

i'm 100% sure you're talking about a public torrent. do you even know what seeders and leechers are and how important their speeds are? well, quick 411. seeders are the people, who have the whole torrent downloaded, and leechers are the ones that are downloading off of them.

join private tracker to get the best of p2p world. good trackers have humongous database, good speeds and safer environment. for general stuff, you should try out IPT, but if you're only interested in TV stuff, there's nothing better than BTN

Wouldn't i need an invite to those sorts of sites?

yeh you need invite for sign up on these sites.
but they are easy to get invites.you get approve your intro first then you can get access the forum where you can get these invites.

I your firewall is not configured properly to allowing incoming connections this can also cause a speed issue. Make sure your torrent port is open.
