    Default Which XP to install...?

    Hi all,

Besided my own pc I have an old pc to dowload torrents, internet, office, chat.
    Very easy uses.

Its AMD 3200+, 1.5 GB ddr, GF 6600GT...
I havent formatted it since 2007 and it is workin extremly slow now... (4 mins to load, 2 mins to open docs etc.).

I want to format the pc but I have no idea which windows to install?
    PRO sp2
    HOME sp2
    MICRO XP sp3
    PERFORMENCE EDITION sp3

    and I need also MUI.
Any risk with the changed versions? since the look much faster...

I just want it to be fast, stable and in my own language...!

    Thanks!

Unless you have special requirements stick with Windows XP Pro. It has security and networking features (remote desktop, IIS, etc) that the home version doesn't. These features may or may not be important to you, but at least you have those options should you need them. The pro version is just as stable and fast as home.

You will need an original CD or language pack for whatever language you have in mind, but as you mentioned MUI, it sounds like you already know that. The micro & performance variants are unofficial versions that claim to have a small footprint and are optimized for speed, respectively. Since I don't know who or how they have been modified, I would stay away from those. All kinds of potential stability and security problems there.

For a stable install, just install a minimum number of programs, remove windows features and services that you don't use, defragment your drive and make a backup image of your windows install while it is still stable.

Why not install windows 7 on it? your video card have only 128MB ram but you can turn off aero and select the the classical teme. It would work good the cpu and ram are just fine tu run windows 7 or you can at least try to :D if you really want windows xp than install the professional as you will easy found an MUI other versions have problems with it... I would also recommended Ubuntu. If you are not playing games on your computer it's just best choice.

    Windows 7 system requirements
    System requirements for Windows XP

On that system you have the option to install both systems. So the choice is yours. If you will install Windows XP SP3 will things work normally but in the case you choose Windows 7 don't install SP1 because these computers will not function normally, so you have to install Windows 7 without SP1.

What? SP1 works great absinth... and it's only all updates of windows 7 in one pack that's sp1. Download a newest Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise x86 SP1 Integrated June 2011-BIE or a 64 bit version and folow the instructions in the nfo. Always works great for me :D

my laptop has a video card ram with only 64mb yet i can open aero on windows 7 ultimate LOL.

trust us, win 7 works much better than xp, if you don't have to use some special softwares.

but win 7 pro/ultimate has compatible functions that allow you to run some softwares and games designed for older systems.

    so.. XD

If you're looking for a minimal install, why not consider TinyXP or Tiny7? I have a shit-tier Acer laptop and it's so bad that the battery only lasts about 15 minutes and even that handles Tiny7 fine. For your needs, it would be fine. All mine has is Firefox, Deluge, Filezilla and VLC.

I know that SP1 work great, but his system maybe is not good enough for SP1. When i installed SP1 in my old computer, which has a similar configuration, even more memory (2 GB) then my computer started to work very slowly. When I removed the SP1 the computer work normally.

And in his system he can installed only 32 bit version.
