Thread: Setting up a seedbox at home

I've grown tired of managing my torrents on the macbook which is my main computer for daily use. I got an old Intel Atom 330 Dual-core-based box which I figured would be sufficient. I've googled a bit around, to only mediocre success. I'm not far from totally blank on these matters, though quite computer-literate. So the question is: From an entirely blank box, how do I proceed to get a box --> Which allows me to streams media files from it to both macosx and windows systems, and also allows me to manage torrents on it from both macosx and windows systems? Note: I'm not interested in being able to manage it from outside my home network.

I would really appreciate any kind of advice or input that I could get.

You could install windows xp/vista/7 and use utorrent + webui
or
Install some form of linux and use rtorrent+rutorrent
rtorrent + rutorent server install (Centos5)
